From November 11-14, our Vice President Dan Szeezil is attending #𝖤𝖱𝖳𝖢𝟤𝟢𝟤𝟦 from the World Refining Association in Lisbon on behalf of our team. The conference is the premier 🇪🇺 refining event of the year — and one of the largest refiner-focused events in the world. He’ll be on the ground to discuss our tech, hear from speakers, and connect with refiners and partners. If you’re interested in hearing about our renewable Alder Renewable Crude (ARC) platform, which unlocks a range of low carbon products and fuels, please get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you. ♻ 🛫

Great to be included in this snapshot of a rapidly growing ecosystem of companies committed to decarbonizing critical sectors of our economy, including aviation. The reality is we need everything to get there, but many of the companies included are putting in the hard yards to make it happen as quickly as possible. We're excited (and grateful) to be part of this group of mission-driven companies ♻ 🎯 💪

Great to be in Seattle this week with our friends and peers. Alder Renewables CEO Timothy Obitts spoke about: ♻ The progression of Alder Renewables: from ARC production, to our new lab facility, and continued technical team growth and investment. ♻ The policy incentives in the United States and across the state, and the need for consistency, harmonization, competitiveness — particularly as the EU continues to double town on creating the market conditions for success. ♻ Our observations on the scalability of wood residues in the U.S. Northwest and the clear economic benefits of incentivizing SAF producers to regenerate historic centers of wood/pulp production.

Tomorrow, our CEO Timothy Obitts is speaking at the Sustainable Aviation Fuels Northwest conference. Alongside friends from Alaska Airlines, Twelve, NXTClean Fuels, and SkyNRG, Tim will dive into the unique potential of the Pacific Northwest in the race to produce SAF and decarbonize aviation. With strong policies, reliable and abundant sources of biomass cultivation, and sectoral-specific incentives, the future for the the region is bright — but more investment is needed. If you're attending in Seattle, come say 👋

We welcome the news that Senators Moran, Duckworth, Boozman, & Klobuchar have launched the first SAF Caucus in the 🇺🇸. As the 🇪🇺 and other regions turbocharge the policy incentives for SAF production, the U.S. must follow suit. If used strategically, this is a vehicle that can not only help to decarbonize a critical part of our domestic infrastructure, but to protect American competitiveness on the world stage. The future of sustainable aviation — and our net zero ambitions — count on it 🛫 ♻ 🎯 https://lnkd.in/gHRkkR_g

Great conference this week at tcbiomass. Many thanks to GTI Energy and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory for organizing an impactful session that brought together lessons learned from pioneers in the field, emerging research, and the latest efforts to advance biofuel technology to market. It was a privilege to share our latest work at Alder Renewables on upgrading fast pyrolysis oil from wood residues and miscanthus into sustainable aviation fuels, with support from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) BETO. Equally important was the chance to meet new community members and reconnect with long-time colleagues. I’m already looking forward to the next TCBiomass conference!

Our CTO Derek Vardon is speaking at TCBiomass 2024 in Itasca, Illinois next week. The talk on Fractionating Wood and Miscanthus Fast Pyrolysis Oil for Conversion into Sustainable Aviation Fuel will take place on Wednesday, September 11th at 11.40am CT. Come check it out and say 👋 ♻ 🛫 https://lnkd.in/gyRqeWu

Airlines are increasingly turning to SAF as a cleaner alternative to traditional jet fuels. This growth is further supported by regulatory initiatives and mandates from bodies like the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and various governments. Additionally, rising investments in research and development to improve SAF production efficiency, along with advancements in feedstock technologies, are driving the sector's expansion. This summer, Genevieve Rump (Genna) had the unique opportunity to explore the world of decarbonization and renewable fuels as a summer intern at Alder Renewables. Genna, an incoming junior at the University of Colorado Boulder, was tasked with assisting in conducting research, collecting and analyzing data, and operating lab-scale chemical separation processes at our new lab facility.
