Non ✈️ Welcome to this new trip report! Following our visit to SWISS' hangar, it was finally time to head to the gate to catch our flight to Tokyo Narita. 🚆 After taking the train to the E gates, we explored more of SWISS’ lounges, including the First Class section, which features award-winning à la carte dining. 🕒 Since we spent so much time in the hangar, it was soon time to head to the gate to board HB-JND, an 8.3-year-old Boeing 777-300ER. The aircraft is arranged in a four-class configuration, with 62 business class seats laid out in a 1-2-2, 2-2-1 configuration. 🌍 The aircraft is also equipped with AeroSHARK, a special film that reduces aerodynamic drag, contributing to increased fuel efficiency. 🛫 Flight LX160 is scheduled for over 12 hours, flying across Asia while avoiding Russian airspace. Today, the load factor in business class is 100%—not a single free seat. 💺 At my seat, I found a bottle of water, noise-cancelling headphones, the Victorinox amenity kit, a blanket, and a pillow. The menus were handed out before take-off, along with a welcome drink. ☁️ We took off slightly late and climbed through thick clouds. Soon after, the lunch service started. I opted for the signature appetizer and main course, paired with different wines. The quality and quantity were excellent, as expected from such a high-end product. After dessert and an espresso, it was time to explore more of the seat. 🎬 The seat features a touchscreen IFE system, which includes a remote controller stored in the armrest. The system offers a good selection of international movies, games, and TV series. However, the highlight was the free Wi-Fi connection for messaging, available in all travel classes, which worked non-stop throughout the entire flight. 💡 The tray table is stored in the partition that divides the two seats, which also houses two reading lights and audio controls. On the right, I found a storage compartment for my shoes, a large table, and additional storage arranged on shelves. Under the IFE screen, there is a small, convenient storage drawer. 🛏️ The seat reclines into a comfortable lie-flat bed, enhanced by the cushion’s massaging function. I lay down for a bit and managed to sleep for a few hours. 🍽️ About two hours before landing, the excellent breakfast service began. I pre-selected a few items from the breakfast menu, which made the experience highly personalized and efficient. After enjoying croissants, bread, and two cups of coffee, we started our descent into Tokyo Haneda. 🍫 Another hot towel was provided here, along with signature chocolate. Overall, it was a comfortable experience on board SWISS' flagship product. The cabin crew was particularly friendly and professional, delivering excellent service to all passengers. ✍️: Simone Chellini

🟢 #DidYouKnow | In the early 2000s, Northwest Airlines faced a critical decision on upgrading its long-haul fleet. Despite Boeing's 777 being a strong contender, NWA ultimately chose Airbus's A330, influenced by cost efficiency and pilot-training commonality. #Airways #Aviation 📸: Boeing
