Happy to share winning two AIA Potomac Valley Architecture Awards last week at the AIA Potomac Valley Fall Awards celebration. A renovated "Farm to Table" dairy bank-barn was cited for recognition in adaptive reuse, and the Georgetown mixed-use project that anchors 1238 Wisconsin Avenue and Prospect street picked up an honor award. Grateful for enlightened clients EastBanc, and team contractors James G. Davis Construction (DAVIS) Tom Gnecco, and the expert builders Added Dimensions Inc / Sam Morgan on the barn. A big assist on both projects from Loewen and Brian Flavin. As always stunning photography by Anice Hoachlander. Congratulations to all the winners!

We are thrilled to share that our Fire Temple Prayer Room interior renovation was honored with a Design Excellence award by AIA Potomac Valley last night at their 2024 Design Awards program. The recognition was especially meaningful given the selectivity of exceptional work by only 6 other firms who were also recognized at the event. For more information about this project, please visit: https://lnkd.in/ezk8vHra Thanks also to the head juror, Ray Calabro FAIA MRAIC and all the other excellent jurors: Anne Schopf, FAIA, Eric Logan, Ruth Baleiko, FAIA, LEED AP, & Alyssa M Mitchell AIA, NOMA who collectively have produced an earth-shattering body of work.

Thank you AIA Potomac Valley and Kenneth Young for hosting a fabulous event last night. I don't personally attend that many award ceremonies, but my instinct is Xuan Vo, Assoc. AIA will in her burgeoning career. The future of our chapter is strong with the 2024 cohort of Emergency Professional Awards Program winners. Smolen Emr Ilkovitch Architects
