How Apple Is Organized for Innovation: It’s about experts leading experts and unique organization structure: Here are some highlights: • Functional Organization, Not Divisional: While most companies divide into business units as they grow, Apple continues to organize around functions. This means experts lead experts, not general managers. It ensures that those with the deepest knowledge make critical decisions. • Expertise Aligned with Decision Rights: Apple's structure revolves around placing decision-making power in the hands of the most knowledgeable experts. This alignment drives innovation in fast-changing industries like technology. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: With experts from various functions working together, Apple fosters intense collaboration to solve complex problems. For example, the development of the iPhone's dual-lens camera required input from over 40 specialist teams. • Attention to Detail at Every Level: Apple’s leaders are immersed in the details three levels down. This obsession with perfection, down to the curvature of product corners, drives the creation of products that delight consumers globally. • Leadership with Deep Expertise: Apple’s leaders are expected to be specialists first and foremost. This expert-driven leadership approach cultivates a culture of innovation where great products come from a shared purpose and collaborative debate. • Innovation at Scale: Despite its massive growth—Apple now has over 137,000 employees—the company’s functional model enables continued innovation, proving that a focus on deep expertise, collaboration, and a shared vision leads to sustained success. Key Takeaways for Leaders: -> Organize around expertise, not just products. -> Foster collaborative debate to push boundaries and solve complex problems. -> Keep leaders immersed in the details to ensure quality and innovation. -> Prioritize expert-driven leadership over general management to maintain focus on excellence. -> Apple’s success shows that aligning expertise with decision-making power, even at scale, can drive breakthrough innovations and redefine entire industries. 🌟 How Conagra Brands is Changing #Succession Planning 🌟 Conagra is taking big steps to improve how they plan for the future by focusing on their internal talent. Here’s what they’re doing: 🔍 Creating a Skills Framework: Organization has identified 12 key skills needed for each role and has already mapped out 720 salaried employees. This allows employees to understand what’s expected of them, discuss their career growth, and find the next opportunity within the company. If there are skill gaps, they’re given the tools to develop them. 📊 Centralizing Data for Better Decisions: Instead of using separate Excel sheets, Conagra is putting all this information in one place. This will allow HR teams to easily see where skills and experience lie across the company, helping them make better decisions and reducing bias. 🚀 Using AI to Speed Up Development: Conagra is using #GenerativeAI through #Galileo to help bring their succession planning to life. This technology helps them make data-driven decisions and develop their employees’ skills without needing to look for new resources. 🎯 Investing in Their People: Organization is focusing on developing the skills of their internal employees instead of hiring talent from outside. By investing in their people, they’re not just filling roles—they’re building a strong and future-ready workforce. How are you doing succession planning in your respective organizations? Do share some of your best practices or ways that have really worked out for you. 🚀Transforming Performance Management : Adobe's journey with Check-in process' 🚀 What are Check-ins? The essence of Check-ins is simple: These are Ongoing, two-way conversations, which foster real-time feedback and dialogue between employees and managers, focusing on what's going well, what can be improved, and how to drive both business impact and personal career development. What has Adobe done differently to improvise their #PMS process (after launch of digital version of check-in process) : 💡Documentation : Earlier → HR team manually managed paperwork and process to ensure all steps were completed.  Now → All employees and managers have a web-based destination to document their goals, development, and growth. 💡Goal Setting : Earlier → Goals set at the start of the year and often not revisited. Now → Individual goals are documented in a centralized place, reviewed regularly, and can be updated in real-time by manager and employee. 💡Feedback : Earlier → Cumbersome process to ask for and keep track of feedback from stakeholders.   Now → Stakeholder feedback can be exchanged with anyone at any time and is stored in a centralized place. 💡Career growth : Earlier → Career growth and aspirations discussed on an ad-hoc basis, putting burden on employees to scroll through internal opportunities posted on internal career website.  Now → Employees have access to a data-driven Career Discovery tool that shows them where employees in similar roles moved within Adobe. As they explore new career paths, they can set up notifications, so they know in real-time when their ideal next role is posted. As per Gloria T. Chen, "Feedback and ongoing conversations between managers and employees are at the heart of what makes Check-ins successful at Adobe. They provide clarity and support career growth.” Feel free to share your views in comments section below. #PerformanceManagement #DigitalTransformation #Adobe #Bestpractices #talentmanagement #HR #HumanResources LinkedIn Adobe Dave Ulrich Steve Browne, SHRM-SCP

Navigating Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace: A Personal Experience I recently had an eye-opening conversation with an employee from a US-based company that I’d like to share. During a discussion about a promising HRBP role that aligned perfectly with my 12+ years of diverse experience, I requested a referral. The response I received took me by surprise: Me: “I’d love a referral for the HRBP position I found at your company. My background aligns well with the role.” Employee: “Of course! Where are you from? Are you an Asian?” Me: “Yes, I’m originally from India and recently relocated to the US few months ago.” Employee: “Oh, it might be a challenge for you. We don’t have any Indians in this location office so you may not be the right fit for this location." This conversation struck a chord with me. It’s disheartening to see that despite our commitment to diversity and inclusion, real barriers still exist. We say we’re committed to diversity and inclusion, but are we truly living up to these values? I have worked with Deloitte, which is truly an exceptional place to work! The company has a strong commitment towards diversity, equity, inclusion and ensures that its people are taken care of well without any biases. Everyone in the organization is treated fairly and respectfully irrespective of their region, gender, career level, nationality, education, color, caste, religion. The company is #AllIn for its people and genuinely takes care of them round the clock. Watch this video - https://lnkd.in/gXNmseyv On a separate note, I am open to strategic/challenging HR opportunities in New York/ Bay Area California/ Seattle and eager to contribute my skills and experiences. If you are aware of any such opportunities, please feel free to reach out to me. Thank you for your support. Let’s continue to champion true diversity and inclusion in all its forms! #DiversityAndInclusion #JobSearch #HR #OpenToWork #CareerOpportunities #InclusionMatters
