During their day program, men and women supported in Freeport visited a cultural storytelling art exhibit at the Freeport Memorial Library. They met with the exhibit’s artist, Obelto, asked questions about his art, and sought his advice to improve their artistic skills.

Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸 Today, we recognize the achievements of laborers, labor movements, and their supporters. The history of organized labor in this country is contentious, marked by hard-fought struggles, significant accomplishments, and periods of meaningful change. We hope you enjoy this day and reflect on how far we’ve come together in securing meaningful rights and fair treatment for those who helped shape the infrastructure of the United States.

Who’s ready to roll? Today’s disco bowling event was nothing short of amazing. Everyone had so much fun with their costumes and hats. We enjoyed drinks and pizza along with t-shirt and glow stick giveaways before heading back home.

As our community enters its 75th year and a pivotal election season, we are forming regional advocacy groups―just like our founding families―to educate candidates on both sides of the aisle about disability rights. As a regional group member, you will add your voice to a group of disability rights supporters discussing the issues affecting the disability community. Members will: - Meet and engage with candidates to inform them of disability rights. - Join local families, organizations, and self-advocates to discuss important issues and promote disability rights. - Raise awareness and amplify your message through letters, emails, and social media advocacy. - Continue participating to drive the mission forward. The council meets regularly for everyone to voice their opinions, share ideas, and promote meaningful outcomes.

The ladies and gents in Glen Head had a surprise visit from Uncle Tony's Reptiles. The wrangler, Tony, introduced them to his friend "Banana," an albino snake who they learned was very friendly. They discovered that she was sweet and a mother, a couple of people were even brave enough to pet her.
