Aaaaaand Midwood takes the gold! Inspired by the 2024 Paris Olympics, ADAPT Community Network’s Midwood Children’s Program hosted its own Summer Olympics. Students headed to the gym on August 7th, 2024 to play ring toss, shake a parachute, and throw balls into the blowup “Olympic Rings.” Everyone was a winner at the Midwood Summer Olympics, where the theme was “We swim together.” We hope the little athletes had a great day of summer fun!

Happy National Nonprofit Day! As a not-for-profit organization founded in 1946, ADAPT Community Network is proud to have a nearly 80-year legacy of supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). We are so happy to be part of an incredible community of I/DD services nonprofits, including some in New York City and the Hudson Valley that we have integrated into our own organization. We are grateful for our partnerships with ADAPT of the Hudson Valley, Inspire - Orange County Cerebral Palsy Association, Human First, Inc., and every nonprofit organization that helps us reach great heights. Much of the reason ADAPT has been able to maintain our network of education, technology, health, residential, and recreational programs is because of the support of our generous donors and volunteers. If you are interested in making a donation to ADAPT, please visit bit.ly/3lKd9xP. If you would like to volunteer at one of our programs or events, please contact Mark Heffner at [email protected]. Thank you so much for supporting your local nonprofit organization this National Nonprofit Day. Your commitment allows us to pursue our mission of empowering people through innovative solutions, one person at a time.
