  • Thank you WilmerHale for hosting another fantastic #ACCNCR President’s Roundtable!  President Laura Murray is the chapter’s first ACC NCR Leadership Academy alum to serve in the position. Continuing her focus on leadership, she brought together Academy alums (including her entire cohort) and members of the Board of Advisors for a robust conversation about leadership.  We appreciate everyone who attended and contributed to the conversation, including Wilmer Hale Partners Stephanie Evans, Ciara Baker, and Elizabeth Mitchell, who dedicated the event to Justin Ochs, who is sorely missed. • ◾What: The Corporate Transparency Act ◾More Info: The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) is one of the largest changes to corporate governance that has ever been enacted. Every company will need to make a determination as to whether it will need to report or will qualify for an exemption. The CTA’s reporting obligations began January 1, 2024. They are now in effect. Reporting companies created before January 1, 2024, have until January 1, 2025, to file their initial beneficial ownership information report. Companies created in 2024 have only 90 days from their date of creation to file their initial beneficial ownership information report. Many business owners remain unaware of the CTA and its implications for their businesses. All business owners should understand the necessity, importance, and timing of complying with this mandatory federal filing requirement. Additional information on the CTA may be accessed through a free download of The Corporate Transparency Act Desk Book: (https://lnkd.in/etGkUy8X). ◾Diamond Sponsor Polsinelli's CTA Team has prolifically published market leading guidance that is available on its website here: https://lnkd.in/eYzb2R_4
