Our Spanish-speaking Employee Resource Group got together over the weekend to provide some feedback for our leadership around what we might be missing when it comes to helping our Spanish-speakers feel like they belong at ACW. While some of our management speaks Spanish, we are not native speakers, and we are 100% aware that without that intrinsic perspective, we don't have a full grasp on the experience of some of our workforce. We are so grateful this team feels comfortable giving us ideas on how to keep getting better. #buildabetterworld #webuildcolorado

Project Update: the sealants and waterproofing out at Pueblo County Detention Center with JE Dunn Construction look AMAZING! Our crew is doing quite a fine job down here. This project has really highlighted how important supplier diversity is. There's A LOT of sealant work to be done out here, and we've been able to keep up with no problem thanks to our many amazing partnerships. We want to give a particular shout out to Altitude Construction Supply for coming in clutch early on here. We all know how important project schedules are, especially at the beginning. It's amazing to have folks we can trust to care about that as much as we do. #webuildcolorado #teamwork

This year, we took a deep dive into Trust, and how we can communicate around trust better to encourage belonging and collaboration within the workplace. We played a fun game to examine how trust breaks down, and I got loads of laughs along the way 😁 Did you know that 'Trust' is a choice, while 'Distrust' is a feeling?? Which means they can exist at the same time...! Pretty neat. I had the best week getting to spend time with everyone. Absolute has the BEST people (I'm a little biased). As a small business, ACW doesn't have anyone positioned to handle our social media as their full-time job. I bet a lot of our connections on here are similar. I'm here to promise you that it doesn't have to be a full-time job! Managing our content takes me less than an hour a week, and is one of my favorite parts of my job. It's not just a marketing tool for us (but that's definitely a perk). In an industry where it can be weeks in between seeing fieldworkers, social media offers a way to stay connected, from the office to the jobsite, and in between.
