August is “Gives Back Month”, although our employees can choose to support the community any month of the year with our Company Volunteering Policy which gives each colleague two days of additional paid leave per year. Since the introduction of the policy, we’ve seen employees take part in a host of activities, including environment conservation days, coaching sports, theatre production management, D-Day commemorations, outreach activities with RAF veterans, and working on a heritage steam railway. International Women’s Day is the global day to mark the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women; the day that serves to remind us of the progress made towards gender equality and highlights the work that still needs to be done. Today we are celebrating the contribution made by our female workforce and we continue to strive to create more opportunities to encourage women into the industry, and through STEM outreach, hope to inspire young girls to look ahead to the future and consider aviation as a career choice. The number of women employed by the Company has more than doubled from just 13% in 2018 to 28% today, against ICAO ‘s reported figure of 4.9% globally. Right across all the Company’s disciplines, that number continues to flourish, with women holding posts as pilots, managers, design engineers, sensor operators and analysts, as well as Heads of Department, with three women also sitting on our Main and Executive Boards. Louise Campbell, Group HR Director, said: “We wholeheartedly support inclusivity within our workforce because we recognise this encourages new thinking and is more sustainable for the long-term. During the quieter winter months, our fabulous cabin crew team has been using the time to prepare for the busy summer schedule ahead by undertaking skills refreshers in many aspects of their roles. Their recurrent training makes sure our very high safety standards are maintained, ensuring the team is prepared in any situation that may arise during a flight, and instils confidence in the crew from the passengers. Lynsey Charalambous, our Cabin Crew Training Manager, said: “Our annual training sessions refresh and update our cabin crew members on emergency procedures, first aid techniques and customer service skills, and is crucial in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our VIP passengers. “This exceptional level of all round customer service is what makes 2Excel’s cabin crew stand out from the competitors.” #training #refresher #crewtraining

During the quieter winter months, our fabulous cabin crew team has been using the time to prepare for the busy summer schedule ahead. Undergoing training in new customer service-related skills broadens the crew’s existing capabilities, giving everyone an opportunity to sharpen their knowledge and to undergo personal development. Guidance from the chefs at Niche & Bespoke, who pride themselves on excellent food presentation, enabled the cabin crew to practise different ‘plating up’ techniques on several dishes from the menu to ensure that they are well prepared for any specialised flights that may require this service. There is limited galley space on board, without the luxury of a full kitchen, so it was very important for the crew to experience how they can adapt and develop traditional skills to ensure these are transferable to the aircraft environment. “Given that our client requirements are expanding, and we’re venturing into new markets with higher on board service expectations, it is here that learning new skills allows our team members to build on their existing knowledge and experiences, leading to a higher level of overall service quality on board.” #aviationfood #planefood #vipcharter #privatecharter
