"We sail for sport and also for Ocean health—because all life on Earth depends on a healthy Ocean." — Wendy Schmidt, philanthropist & co-founder of 11th Hour Racing. The Deep Blue Exploration Zone, named after Wendy's winning Botin 85 sailboat, will be featured at this year’s Barcolana race village in Trieste, Italy. Located in Piazza dell'Unità, it offers an immersive look at the ocean's vital role, with footage from Schmidt Ocean Institute's Falkor (too) and BioMa. Don’t miss this unique experience now through Oct 13th! To celebrate her victory at Barcolana 54 in 2022, Wendy Schmidt donated $100,000 to BioMa—an environmental study center that offers immersive experiences about the Gulf of Trieste and the Miramare Marine Protected Area. Her donation supports BioMa’s vital work in protecting marine #biodiversity and helping visitors connect with the ocean to foster understanding and conservation.

We are thrilled to announce our sponsorship of the Sport Positive Summit! This global event, taking place in London on October 8-9, brings together industry leaders to tackle #climateaction through the lens of sport. We are proud to see innovative projects that we support featured at this year's summit—Francesca Clapcich's 'Believe, Belong, Achieve' campaign and UpWind by MerConcept, both of which drive inclusion and sustainability in sport. There will also be a session about The Toolbox—a free suite of guides, tools, and templates designed to make sustainability strategies free and accessible for organizations of any size or industry. We’re looking forward to meeting other teams at the Summit who are driving sustainability across the marine industry and the global sports sector. #GreenSports

Our friends at Protect Our Winters have just released their latest film, "Purple Mountains: Live Free or Die, the anticipated sequel to the first film released in 2020. The film follows professional snowboarder and founder of POW, Jeremy Jones, as he returns to his New England roots where he grew up and fell in love with winter. Traveling through New Hampshire, Jeremy engages with Outdoor State members and Protect Our Winters alliance members, like Torey Lee Brooks and Elizabeth Burakowski, to understand different perspectives and motivations to act on climate, depolarize #environmental conversations, and provide a sense of unity for those who enjoy and care about the #outdoors. Through #storytelling, we work with Protect Our Winters to highlight the intrinsic connection between our mountains and ocean, emphasizing the deep connection between these environments.
