We need to keep in mind that recruiting is a service function and not a delivery function and it deals with humans so personalization will always be a key aspect of it and we need to cater to that always, so striking a good balance of automation and AI will be important.

Among the many C-Suite executives, HR professionals, and customers I've talked to over the past year, the truth is that successful integration of AI doesn't displace human capital, but enhances it. We all know AI is not going to replace recruiters. BUT, recruiters who use AI will replace recruiters who don't use AI. Therefore the only possible answer is to adapt, learn to handle and start to use it.

AI and Automation is already impacting some elements of the recruitment process but there are some potential issues with using AI to match applicants to roles- 1) Soft skills are hard to gauge from a cv 2) The algorithm may perpetuate unconscious bias or limit diversity within a team 3) Lack of a personalised experience - recruitment is a two way process and the candidate experience is likely to suffer 4) The best candidate is not always the best candidate on paper for many reasons. AI is a useful tool to create efficiencies but cannot (yet?) replace human judgement, empathy and relationship building.
