Grundwerte sollten nicht so einfach zu ändern sein - sonst wären es keine Grundwerte! Was hilft? Wie sagte Jean Jaques Rousseau noch so schön: „Take the road opposite to custom and you will almost always do well.“

We should all be open to examining our beliefs. You never know where new insight may arise. But our beliefs are outcomes of our experiences so if you're challenged in an unproductive manner, you can fall back on the real world experiences that formed your beliefs. Share the stories of why you believe what you do. A good story is more influential than a theory.

Staying true to my beliefs, especially when challenged by industry influencers, is about engaging with integrity and purpose. I value diverse perspectives and remain open to learning, but I won’t compromise the core values that define my leadership. Instead of reacting, I focus on meaningful dialogue, always anchored by my commitment to adding real value. Leadership is about standing firm while evolving—remaining true to my values, no matter the pressure.

When you've worked with movie stars, met the Rolling Stones in person, and had coffee with the president of a Latin American country, "industry influencers" need to take a number. Everyone–every human being, Elon Musk included—is a person. Nothing more, nothing less. Some have more money, some have more fame. Some are tall and imposing, others shy and not so tall. We're all still people, and we all deserve respect. If someone questions your values... what values are we talking about... personal? cultural? professional? Also begs the questions, who are they to do so and what's the motivating factor? Do they know you well enough? Do they understand the context of the situation? It's easy to throw one's weight around with perceived power.
-
Actually, I think only you can challenge your values. They come from your life experience, history, and from your family upbringing. Of course others can offer different views and, eventually, lead you to reflect and review your values, but I see it as a personal process. Finally, I believe that people with stronger values will be more open to diverse environments and cultures, hence more adaptable on their beliefs to follow the evolution of the society.
