Updated rules and laws are not really that big of a deal since its so infrequent. I think the more important thing to focus upon is the skills and credentials companies are seeking that one may not have. This could be a certification of some sort or perhaps a move into a new industry needing a person to obtain specific knowledge. That's where I would encourage safety professionals to look.

Using the correct glove for the job is paramount to each department. The gloves for my sheet metal people are not needed for the painters and assembly has to have sensitivity. A stock of the proper gloves should be available in each area for easy access. If not easy to use, they won’t be used. A plan for injuries.

I agree however, have your “Safety Partner” check your equipment after you don it. The gap you miss could cost you your life .
