How do you deal with creative blocks and feedback loops?

I regularly expose myself to various sources of creative inspiration. This includes exploring contemporary design platforms such as Behance and Motionographer and studying classic art, architecture, movies, video games, and nature. Travel and music are also important to my creative process, as they provide me with new perspectives and cultural insights that stimulate my creative thinking.

Have you ever spent too long staring at a blank page? Been there. Creative block does not have to be a dead end. I got through it by embracing limits! Limited colour palettes, odd prompts, and working with unique materials all inspire new ideas. Feedback is fuel, not fire. It can sting, but I use it to sharpen my vision. I seek out different points of view and offer clarifying questions to get to the "why" of the comments. This collaborative mindset leads to better results than defensiveness. Remember, this is a conversation, not an assessment of your creativity.

I usually start with something close to what I want in terms of text. So for example, bright colour painting of ocean waves in the arctic. Then see what Google images gives me. Come to think of it I have been using that for a long time and now it pertains to AI. Might be using that for inspiration next.

When I’m stuck creatively, I love to switch things up. I’ll go for a walk, watch a movie, or even just chat with a friend. Sometimes, the most random things can spark a new idea. I also like to browse design platforms like Behance or Pinterest, listening the podcasts or explore other industries for inspiration. I never go for feedback in an early stage unless its a problem I can't over come early and reach out to another professional and explain what feedback I want. I save feedback for later in the process on the work, but can solicit text feedback if I am not sure about what the direction is from a client.

When I’m stuck on a project and I still have a tight deadline to meet, I take a 20 minute walk to reset and help ground myself.
