Learn about solutions & strategies from the perspective of the oppressor, oppressed & the in-between. In my experience, a great presentation hinges on two things: a love for teaching and a passion for the subject matter. These qualities fuel your energy, even when faced with challenging audiences or extended Q&A sessions.

Build a deep knowledge set of your topic. Practice different questions and prepare answers in advance. Additionally, you are the subject expert and no one else know what you are going to say. Don’t sweat it if you forget a point and if you don’t know, acknowledge the question, admit you don’t the answer. Be comfortable and confident in your expertise.

One startegy in engaging the audience for me was to smile when getting some response from them. The questions too has to be engaging and your tone plays an important role. Pause at the right moment and conquer the question essence to engage thee audience. The content topic has already engaged your audience, it depends on your delivery afterwards.

This reminds me to a recent presentation whereby there was a nice tinge of videos to bring the visual and topic together perfectly in sync. Topic was about growth in sales numbers, and the presenter was running a time lapsed video on plants growing from the ground. I thought that brought some impact as he verbally talked about the topic. Always remind ourselve not to restrict ourselves on the size of the presentation. Go big if you want strong visuals into the deck.

Please do not use visuals as a teleprompter. Less is more and it gives you flexibility to adapt your stories to you audience. I would rather present with no visuals than text laden ones. Visuals with text box your into corners that may not be right for your audience. Make sure your visuals offer flexibility.

Gone are the days of relying solely on a microphone to captivate your audience. While I deliver the same training each month, I always update my presentations. There's always something new to learn, and my audience stays engaged because they know they'll gain fresh insights every time. I keep my slides concise: a maximum of four bullet points per slide, each with no more than 100 characters. I prioritize visuals like charts and diagrams. People read less these days, and visual representations are quickly understood and remembered. How do I know my visuals are effective? When people raise their smartphones to capture the slide, not to check their messages.

No one knows when you make a mistake. Take a breath, regroup and refocus. A well timed pause make you look thoughtful. Don’t panic and you will recover nicely.

My advise, learn to adjust adjust adjust. Expect in a milliseconds, things happen - a glitch, the pc died, projection died, music volume goes off. Bear in mind that things happen for a reason and remain positive of whatever happens on D-day. No matter how many times you practice and rehearse, no better time to prepare you on the unexpected scenario. Keep calm and move on. Dwelling over glitches will not help. So adjust accordingly.

Create a brief survey with three open-ended questions: - What are your thoughts on the approach, methods, presentation, and overall vibe? - What can I improve? - Summarize the training in one sentence. 2. Encourage responses in their native language for better self-expression. 3. Use AI to analyze responses in real time. You will "Wow" them with your openness and you can also address their additional questions. This approach showcases your commitment to improvement and establishes you as a top-tier trainer.
