Estar cercado de pessoas foi benéfico? Precisamos entender que seja na vida pessoal ou corporativa, ninguém vive só. Vitórias e conquistas muitas vezes são resultados de longos processos de perda e superação. E há de se reconhecer quem lhe deu suporte e esteve ao seu lado, fazendo aflorar o seu melhor.

La humildad ante la posibilidad del fracaso en el trabajo creativo, o sobre aquel en nuestras vidas para experimentar la plenitud y disfrutar de un flujo constante de alegría que se renueve desde el interior sin necesidad de estímulos externos es la comprensión de la oportunidad que se esconde tras cada caída, una lección frente a lo que anhelamos ser o hacemos, comprender en el obstáculo un desafío que pone en juego lo mejor de nosotros. Esto nos recuerda que cada nivel alcanzado es sólo una parte de la escalera, el deleite del camino, del proceso y la maravilla del asombro esta adelante para descubrirnos y abrir o recuperar lo que permanece oculto hasta el momento dado. El ego juega un papel fundamental en nuestra carrera creativa. No debemos confundirlo con autovaloración, autoconocimiento y seguridad en uno mismo. El verdadero desafío es trabajar en el ego para lograr equilibrio. Cuando usamos nuestras singularidades con un propósito de dar valor a los demás, el ego queda en un segundo plano. Así, lo importante no es inflar nuestro propio valor, sino contribuir con nuestras habilidades y talentos. Un día a la vez, con gratitud y hacia adelante Siempre. 🌱

Feedback is a friend not a foe. It's difficult to receive criticism for projects that you've been expending energy on but it's a necessary step to help you get to your goal. This stage helps open up new perspectives and you gain insights that you weren't able to see before.

Let me provide 5 key aspects of feedback that have guided me well: 1) Value of feedback: Constructive criticism is a tool for improvement, not a personal attack. 2) Open mindset: Approach feedback with an open mind, avoiding defensiveness and listening carefully. 3) Ask questions: If unclear, seek clarification to fully understand the insights shared. 4) Seek feedback proactively: Actively request thoughts from colleagues, mentors, or customers. 5) Embrace feedback for growth: Successful people use feedback, showing humility and willingness to learn. Feedback is often misunderstood, misused, and underrated. But it can be a real superpower for personal and professional development.

E alcançar o sucesso que se busca, é necessário tornar-se melhor a cada dia, um dia após outro, desenvolvendo a capacidade de gerar novas maneiras de pensar e agir, e não a nada melhor do que o feedback para a construção do autoconhecimento e responsabilidade.

As a lecturer, I once doubted my abilities. However, by reflecting on my unique contributions, I gained confidence to innovate. I developed an interactive online tool for my perceptual psychology course, significantly improving student engagement. Understanding our value doesn't mean we stop improving; it provides a foundation for growth. By recognizing our strengths, we can better serve our students and contribute to our field. Every lecturer brings a unique perspective to the classroom. Take time to reflect on your achievements – you might be surprised by your impact on the next generation of professionals. "Know Your Value?" This is my favorite life reminder since it is easy and too common to lose our value for multiple reasons. To know our value, we must be on the driver seat of our life, not the passenger. I know the difference too well. At some point, my life was in what felt like a bottomless pit and I was in a free fall. I overcame disruptive uncertainties by seeing me and appreciating me. The life's storms came down to this: What I was looking for was within me the whole time, waiting for me to come home to ME. Ohhhhh I could keep going!!!!!!! I went from 💔 to ❤️🩹 and now ❤. Getting to the third heart is priceless. To keep it, knowing our value is key.

É necessário entender que a vida que temos é absolutamente mérito nosso. Sendo assim, para que possamos alcançar o sucesso, é necessário conhecer os nossos valores e aproveitar as condições para produzir poder e gerar mudanças que sejam significativas.

Being active in higher education contexts, I've always believed in the power of continuous learning. Last year, I took an online course on AI in cybersecurity in order to get inspired. At first, I felt out of my depth, but as I learned more, I saw new ways to enhance my teaching. I incorporated AI concepts into my lessons, making them more relevant and engaging for students. Surprisingly this not only improved their understanding but also rekindled my passion for teaching a little. This experience reminded me that learning never stops. By staying curious and open to new ideas, we can innovate in our work and inspire our students. Whether it's a workshop or simply exploring new topics, lifelong learning keeps us and our teaching fresh.

A mudança acontece quando reconhecemos a necessidade de mudança, é ela só ocorre quando recusamos o óbvio e buscamos aprender a aprender.

In my early days as a lecturer, I was proud of my knowledge and sometimes dismissed others' ideas. Once, a student suggested a new approach to look at neuronal plasticity that I initially brushed off. Later, after reading more myself I realized it was actually brilliant in order to help students understand the concept. This humbling experience taught me to keep my ego in check. Now, I regularly reflect on my motivations: Am I teaching to show off or to truly help students learn? I've learned to celebrate my successes without letting them go to my head. Balancing confidence with humility has made me a better educator and colleague. It's opened me up to new ideas and continuous growth.

A sabedoria é adquirida quando abandonamos alguma coisa todos os dias. Portanto, a busca pelo equilíbrio do ego é uma forte alinhada nesse jornada de conhecimento.

Creativity leads us to achieve great ideas and approaches that can often be unfeasible. The idealized rules, but the world requires reality. Even so, we must never kill ideas. The key is to have the ability to bring down to earth those a priori crazy and incomprehensible ideas, giving them a touch of reality.

Quando um pensamento criativo se tornar uma ação concreta, isso significa que estamos construindo algo novo ou dando nuances próprias para o que já existe. Mas, antes de criar é necessário descobrir, e só descobrimos quando temos a humildade de reconhecer que ainda temos muito a melhorar.

The truth is in the eyes of the beholders. We hear this often, don't we? And, this is also valid in the context of threading the balance between humility and confidence. A great reference point for grounding the balance is culture - national, organizational, team, etc. Learn before you assume you know.

As a visual artist, navigating a creative career requires a delicate dance between confidence and humility. Confidence fuels the fire of your vision, allowing you to push boundaries & share your art with the world. But without humility, that fire can easily morph into an inferno of ego, stifling growth & innovation. The magic happens when you embrace the lifelong journey of learning. Acknowledge the vulnerability of being a student of your craft. Hone your skills and explore new techniques. Confidence allows you to celebrate your achievements & embrace the "aha!" moments of creative breakthroughs. But humility keeps you grounded, and open to feedback and inspiration from diverse sources.

For me, the key to this whole approach is to be aware of our reality and our ability to create. We must be able to understand our context and, although we must not condition ourselves a priori, we must adapt our ideas a posteriori.

In my opinion, we ought not to go with the flow. We are the flow. But, if you are OK to go along, that is ok as well. In the end, when you go to sleep, can you 😴 💤 🛏 😪 🛌 😴? If yes, well, all is well. Do it again and even better. Wait, one more check point. Did you do it for the greater good? 😀
