From my experience, the PM is the liaison between customer and the business while the engineers are the builders. It’s imperative to help the builders understand who they’re building for and the needs of the customers. I agree that having clear objectives and roles is a key component. I’d bring the engineers closer to the end user by starting with customer insights and data as to why what they’re building is necessary. Next I would focus on the delivery timeline including milestones and wins for the team to highlight as part of the stakeholders communications plan.
