Irish Cream Green Velvet Roll-Out Sugar Cookie Recipe (No Spread and No Chill)

A non-spreading and no-chill Irish Cream Green Velvet sugar cookie recipe for St. Patrick's Day!! I kind of love holidays. Especially the ones where I don't have to work and my kids don't have to go to school. Because I'm lazy? Sure.  But also because I love when things are fun AND lazy.  We celebrate all the major holidays around here. And the "good ones" like Ice Cream For Breakfast Day (first Saturday in February) and National Pajama Day (April 16).  Fun and lazy. I told you.  St. Patrick's Day is a little bit harder for me because SOMEONE  … I'm not mentioning names (because I don't know them, not out of the goodness of my heart.)  got this great idea that parents should stay up super late after their children are asleep and instead of snuggling up with their favorite ice cream and a movie...they needed to plan devious tricks that a magical being might be executing while said children are sleeping.  These tricks will necessarily require thought...

No Chill and No Spread Strawberry Roll Out Sugar Cookie Recipe

Unless you've been hanging around here for the last decade...you probably don't know that I used to live in South Korea. (And if you've been with me that long -- I LOVE YOU!!!! We're clearly meant to be best friends forever!) When I lived in South Korea, my son was about 3 years old. And he LOVED strawberries. Like, if he could only eat two foods for the rest of his life...it would have been strawberries and chocolate cereal. Unfortunately though, at the time we lived there, strawberries were REALLY expensive. They were nearly four times the price that we had been used to paying for them.  We were still a young family and honestly...didn't have a lot of extra money. But good healthy food was important to me. So we would buy a basket of strawberries every month. And my fascinatingly responsible 3 year old would ration those strawberries to make them last as long as he could.  You know what happens to strawberries after a few weeks though? ( Spoiler alert: my 3 year o...

Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake Recipe

This soft and chewy chocolate chip cookie cake recipe is perfect for birthdays, holidays, or celebrating all the in between days! Easy to make, easy to decorate and easy to eat! Make your own cookie cake from scratch today! I know I'm your favorite cookie girl. (Top three at least though, right?!) But I have a dirty, sugary secret. I love making cakes. All kinds of cakes. Tall cakes and mini cakes. 3D sculpted cakes that weirdly look like everyday household items for reasons that NO ONE is really sure of. Gorgeously elegant wedding cakes that take days to create and homemade cakes that take minutes to throw together.  Cakes are like greeting cards that you get to eat!!

No Spread and No Chill Honey Graham Roll Out Sugar Cookie Recipe

A soft and chewy no-chill and no-spread honey graham roll out sugar cookie recipe that is perfect for decorated cookies. I don't think it's a secret that I'm obsessed with my own chocolate sugar cookie recipe. I think I could make it blindfolded, using only chopsticks and a broken Lego. Except for the oven part. That would just be dangerous. And I may be a risk taker...but not with ovens. Or alligators. But you guys. These cookies rival even The End All Chocolate Cookies .

Gluten Free Vanilla Sugar Cookies Recipe - No Spread and No Chill!!

Still searching for a soft and chewy gluten free vanilla sugar cookie recipe? I've got you covered with this gluten free roll out cookie recipe that doesn't need to be chilled and won't spread!! This post is sponsored by Bob's Red Mill. I'm not super good at doing things "the right way" or even "the way any sane person would do them." I eat candy while running. I do my Christmas shopping the week after Halloween. I use tipless piping bags...with tips. I shower at 2 in the afternoon...sometimes. I am completely at ease talking to a room full of hundreds of adults...and 100% terrified to talk to just a handful of teenage girls. I rarely wear anything even remotely fashionable, but when I do... you can be sure that I am also wearing an over sized nondescript gray sweatshirt on top of it. And apparently, I open bananas from "the wrong end." Who even knew that there was a RIGHT and a WRONG end to open a banana?! Not this girl!

Royal Icing Recipe With Meringue Powder

Simple recipe for creamy royal icing using meringue powder! When I first started making decorated cookies, I was just as reckless as I am right now. I "researched" for a few days and then declared myself an expert and went to work. The thing is though...that was a a veritable lifetime ago. You guys. That was BEFORE PINTEREST. And "researching" was actually researching. Like... at a LIBRARY. I found exactly ONE recipe for royal icing. And it used egg whites separated from actual eggs. And I ran with that.

Gluten Free Cookies and Flower Bouquets for Mother's Day!!

This post is sponsored by Bob’s Red Mill. I kind of love my CHOCOLATE COOKIE RECIPE . And judging by the number of emails and messages I get about it every week -- you guys do too! The two questions I get asked most often are: 1) How can you tell when chocolate sugar cookies are done baking? (Find the answer HERE .) 2) How do I make it gluten free?

How to Make Decorated Chocolate Chip Sugar Cookies

Early in my marriage, my husband deployed to a war zone. He lived in what was then known as the most dangerous city on the planet. I read news article after news article. I saw pictures that I couldn't un-see. And I became emotionally paralyzed by the bad in the world, by the horrible tragedy happening at that very moment, at every moment. I cried for days for people I had never and would never meet.

Small Batch Fondant Recipe

I think I'm allergic to mopping. It makes me kind of sick just thinking about it. I like to play this game where I lie to myself and promise I'll mop tomorrow. And then I tell myself it's okay if I wait another day because it's only been a few days since I mopped last anyway. But it's never been only a few days. (I'm so ashamed.) Somehow sweeping is okay. With 4 children and hard wood floors...I could sweep in my sleep. Actually, I kind of wish I would, because if you add up all the time in a year that I spend sweeping....that's like...A LOT of time spent sweeping. But sweeping is just easy. You grab a broom and you do it. Unlike mopping. Mopping requires a full commitment.  And a diversion for the children. And moving all those chairs. And trying to figure out exactly what that spot on the floor came from. And then hoping it was something the children spilled. And not the black death. And then you have to budget in your recovery time because --HELLO --...

NO CHILL Peanut Butter Roll-Out Cookies

Peanut Butter and I have a love-hate relationship. And by that I mean, sometimes I love it and sometimes I hate it. Those Easter Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs? Love beyond all reason. Peanut Butter Captain Crunch? HATE. Squished up peanut butter and jam sandwiches from the bottom of my backpack? LOVE!!! Peanut butter breath? Another hate. But these cookies are a straight up win! A soft, chewy cookie with a sweet peanut butter flavor that won't spread when you bake it... it's everything I want in a peanut butter cookie. The best part is that I don't even have to decorate them. Dip half of the cookie in melted chocolate and people will forget what day it is....not to mention whether they were decorated or not! I really want to try these with a caramel flavored royal icing though. I'm pretty sure it would be amazing. Or a complete catastrophe. It's a risk I'm willing to take. Note: Peanut allergies are no joke. Please make sure to bake responsibly and alwa...

No-Icing Poinsettia Platter and Whipped Eggnog Dip

As it turns out, I would way rather make cookies than do other "productive" things. You know, like making beds and buying actual food that doesn't consist of bagels and string cheese. Or shoveling snow. I used to like shoveling snow. And then I moved next to some magic mountains. And every time someone, somewhere in the world gets 1-2 inches of snow, TWELVE inches appears on every horizontal surface in my neighborhood. The piles of snow on the side of my driveway is now too high for me to lift another shovel full of snow to put on top. So that's a lot. Also, I'm lazy, so it's not actually as high as my head or anything. I play by hockey rules. Keep it below the waist. I thought it was going to snow all day so I told my husband I was going to catch up on laundry today. But as soon as he left to take his last Law School final of the semester, I was magnetically drawn to my kitchen. Probably because I was hungry. So I ate some lunch. As it turns out, bagels ...

NO CHILL Gingerbread Roll Out Cookies

A no-chill and no-spread gingerbread roll out cookie recipe that makes a soft and chewy gingerbread cookie! I hesitate to post this recipe. I have been using it since last year. I have had pictures ready to post for weeks. But the truth is, it's not real. Not in the imaginary sense where I probably need to get checked by a healthcare professional, but in like a "not exactly pure gingerbread" form. See, I am into molasses. Soft and chewy molasses cookies, crunchy gingersnaps, and every type of gingerbread that has ever existed... from cake form to houses. I've tried it all. And I like it all. Mostly. Some of the gingerbread cakes are just a little too weird. And all molasses recipes have two things in common -- They use baking soda and they have a minimum chill time. Both of these things bring out the flavor of the molasses. The down side is that without chilling, the baking soda does crazy things to your cut out cookies and your Christmas tree cookies ...

This soft and chewy vanilla sugar recipe does not require chilling and will not spread!!! Remember that one time I mentioned that I have updates to my "other" vanilla cookie recipe? You can see the original HERE ... or just forget about it and use this one every day for the rest of your life. (What? You don't make cookies every day?) Check out my favorite baking tool recommendations HERE .  Author: Georganne Bell Print With Image Without Image Vanilla 2.0 A soft and chewy no-chill and no-spread vanilla roll out sugar cookie recipe. Cookies That Look Like Waffles

Remember that super funny joke from last week about my oven being broken? Still true. It's the electronic spark thing that isn't working. I really wanted to make a certain set of cookies last week that I had been planning, dreaming, sketching, and basically decorating in my sleep this entire summer. I thought that if the gas was working, I could maybe just light the oven myself. You know, with a tiny lighter that I would have to get right next to the gas to be able to use. It seemed like a perfect plan. I took out the oven racks. I took off the metal shield. I looked at the gas distributor and the lighter in my hand - a hand, might I add , that I am particularly fond of...and I gave up. Also, the electric transformer box for my microwave blew a fuse. My only options for replacing it is to speak Korean. Or buy a new transformer box in the next town over. Neither of which is likely to happen. Because...and here's my big secret reveal...I am moving. Okay, it's not that...

The Vanilla Variation

Remember the good old days when we ate End-All for Chocolate Cookies and talked about funny things like the fireman jumping off my balcony ?  Did you know its been over a year since I shared that recipe with you all and peer pressured you into trying it? I'm such a good friend enabler. Seriously, if you need help justifying an extra pair of jeans or a day floating on a river or something.... I am your girl. An afternoon nap you say? How about a trip to Spain? You just call me right up and I'll get on it. I can even print it out on some kind of important looking letter-head thing and priority mail it to your husband/mother/boss/child's school teacher. I'm not really sure about gift wrap though. I could look into it if that's important to you.  Umm....maybe just don't tell MY husband though, okay? Because, clearly, I'm a little susceptible to peer pressure myself. I mean.. a VANILLA VARIATION??!! What? How did that happen?  (You guys are such...
