• Ultra-wideband is improved: iPhone 15 has a second-gen chip that improves precision location finding, which is great for locating friends or family.
• Voice Isolation: Improved audio quality driven by a machine learning model that prioritizes your voice over other sounds.
• Emergency SOS: Expanded to 14 countries on 3 continents.
• Roadside Assistance via Satellite: A quick text points to a satellite to get you moving from anywhere with AAA (requires an AAA membership, free for 2 years with iPhone 15.
• USB-C port for charging and transferring data. This also charges the Mac, iPad, iPhone and AirPods.
• MagSafe to more easily align your phone to a wireless charger.

iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max Features

The iPhone 15 Pro/Pro+ versions of the phone have everything the iPhone 15 offers but take things a step further:

• A17 Pro, the industry's first 3-nanometer chip. The new CPU is up to 10 percent faster with microarchitectural and design improvements, and the Neural Engine is now up to 2x faster, powering features like autocorrect and Personal Voice in iOS 17.
• Action button: This replaces the Mute/Silence switch, but, by default, it will remain the Mute/Silence switch. The Action Button can be programmed to perform various functions like opening the camera app, running a Shortcut, or even turning on the flashlight.
• A titanium design that uses grade 5 titanium, which makes it incredibly strong and durable yet exceptionally lightweight, and recycled aluminum on the inside.
• Thinnest borders ever on an iPhone.
• Comes in two sizes: 6.1" and 6.7".
• A PVD external coating allows for four colors: White, Black, Blue, and Natural (uncolored Titanium).
• An internal chassis architecture that makes it easier to repair the phone.
• ProMotion: A 48MP Main camera system that now supports the new super-high-resolution 24MP default capture. The next generation of portraits with Focus and Depth Control, improvements to Night mode, and Smart HDR are all part of the system.
• Standby is a customizable full-screen experience while the phone is charging and turned horizontally.
• Pro Performance: A new A17 Pro chip using a new 3-nanometer fabrication process. The new A17 Pro includes a 6-core CPU: 2 high-performance cores and 4 high-efficiency cores. The GPU is now 6 cores.
• USB-C connector with a controller using the USB 3 that allows for 10/Gb/s transfer speed (20x faster transfer speeds than previous models).

• A pro camera system uses multiple lenses, the longest optical zoom yet with Focus and Depth Control, improvements to Night mode and Smart HDR, and an all-new 5x Telephoto camera exclusively on iPhone 15 Pro Max. This includes a 5X mm telephoto camera with a 120 mm lens and a 12MP Ultra Wide camera with a 10x optical zoom range.
• Ability to record spatial video for use on the Apple Vision Pro.

All four iPhone 15 models were announced on September 12, 2023, and released shortly after, on September 22.
