The tech in e-bikes just keeps getting better.

We've tested a few e-bikes, and each seems to have new and interesting capabilities. Now, Blix has announced another with some pretty cool features.

In a press release on Monday, Blix unveiled the Sol X e-bike, which features fully automatic gear shifting, automatic pedal assist, and some great new safety features, like its high-visibility lighting system. The system includes brake lights, turn signals, high- and low-beam front lights, and a color, adaptive display system with auto-adjusting backlights so you can see it regardless of the conditions.

The Sol X also has other conveniences that are nice to have on an e-bike. For example, you can switch between automatic and manual gear shifting and it has a 750W rear hub motor that can handle heavier loads—up to a 400-pound total payload capacity, according to the press release.

Blix also says the 614.4Wh battery has a range of up to 70 miles, so you can ride without worrying if you have enough power get where you want to go, and the e-bike can reach speeds up to 28mph (using pedal assist), and at 62 pounds, it's about middle-weight as far as e-bikes are concerned.

The Sol X also has an accompanying app—Blix Connect—which Blix says will allow you to connect with your e-bike and manage your ride data and settings.

The Sol X Cruiser e-bike is available to order now in pre-launch, and the company says they will begin shipping in mid-October.
