Mental Health America of Los Angeles

Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) is one of Los Angeles County’s most respected nonprofit mental health organizations, with a long history of advocating for mental health equity. Celebrating its 100th anniversary, MHALA has championed significant mental health reforms and reduced disparities in care for hundreds of thousands.

MHALA’s integrated service model includes mental and physical healthcare, housing assistance, banking and financial education, employment training, wellness and resilience training, training programs for mental health professionals, community prevention and intervention programs, and specialized support for Veterans and transition-age youth.

Last year, MHALA assisted over 19,000 people. This included outreach to 16,416 unhoused individuals, helping 2,258 secure permanent housing, distributing meals to 18,600, supporting 766 Veterans, and helping 575 members become employed.
