The Landmark Chambers property team offers a comprehensive and user-friendly service across all aspects of real estate law. Our expertise extends from traditional land law issues, such as conveyancing disputes, mortgages and property finance, overage, nuisance and trespass, restrictive covenants and easements, to all aspects of commercial and private sector residential landlord and tenant, including rent review, leasehold enfranchisement and residential management disputes. The wider expertise of chambers, and of members of Landmark Chambers, gives us a well-recognised, unique strength in relation to development and infrastructure related litigation. Individual members of the team also have noted specialist expertise in (amongst other topics), the Building Safety Act, land registration, rights of light, injunctions relating to squatters and protestors, the Electronic Communications Code, manorial rights and town and village greens.

Chambers is ranked in Tier 1 for property/real estate litigation in both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, and many members of the team (both silks and juniors) are individually recognised as leaders in their fields. Members of chambers are regularly involved in the most important, high value, complex and high profile property litigation in the country. In 2022 members of the team were involved in seven property-related cases considered by the Supreme Court, including the landmark case of Fearn v. Tate Gallery which fundamentally reassessed, and is now considered the leading authority on, the law of nuisance.

The team has strength and experience in all aspects of alternative dispute resolution: our members include acknowledged leaders in the field of rent review arbitration and expert determination. A number are also qualified as arbitrators or mediators, and are nominated by the Chairs of the Bar Council and of the Law Society to act as independent experts or arbitrators.
