Community project funding from Congresswomen Miller-Meeks for the new Knoxville public safety/city hall facility continues to move forward.

Earlier this year, the City of Knoxville submitted an application to Miller-Meeks’s office for $2.7 Million in funding for the new public safety/city hall facility. The city has made it through the first couple of steps within her office and they just found out last week the funding has made it through the House and will now just need to pass in the Senate. Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery says this funding would be crucial for the project.

“There’s still a couple steps, but we’re continuing to move along so we’re very excited because the funding for that would be substantial for the project overall.”

The city is still in the planning process of this large scale project which will be constructed at the site of the former Knoxville Middle School.
