Biography
Dan Bailey trained in Leicester and completed speciality training in the SE Thames Geriatric Rotation. He joined King’s in 2010 and leads the PROKARE team (Older Persons’ Surgical Liaison), working closely with surgical teams to improve the care of older people undergoing elective and emergency surgery. This incorporates inpatient liaison and a clinic to assess older adults undergoing elective surgery (clinic referrals can be made via EPR).
He manages inpatient rehabilitation beds on Byron ward and runs an osteoporosis clinic for patients over 75. He is a member of the South Southwark Community Multidisciplinary Team and the TAVI MDM and is a training Programme Director for Core Medical Training at King’s Denmark Hill.

In 2010 he graduated with an MA in Medical Law and Ethics, with merit, at King’s College London. His particular interests in this field include: The Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Law, Organ Donation, Child Health Law, End of Life/Right to die, and Resource Allocation.
