James “Dusty” Leo Rhoads
James “Dusty” Leo Rhoads, 86, of Walker, Iowa passed away Monday, February 12, 2024. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Anchor Bible Church in Center Point, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 AM.
Dusty was born on March 26, 1937, to Charles and Gatha (Martin) Rhoads in Walsh, Colorado. After high school, he enlisted in the National Guard. He married Jane Brown on December 31, 1956, in Green City, Missouri. He gave over twenty-eight years of service to Link Belt / FMC. He was a long-time member of Anchor Bible Church.
Dusty was a jack of all trades. He had a great sense of humor that earned him the title of jokester in the family. Dusty loved to help, and with his guidance and patience, he could solve any problem. Most importantly, he loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.
He is survived by his wife, the love of his life for sixty-seven years, Jane Rhoads; their children, Becky (Randy) Stansberry, Jim (Terri) Rhoads, Lori (Tim) Mackey, Terri (Greg) Gauley, and Brad (Cara) Rhoads; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren with one on the way, and many nieces and nephews.
Dusty is preceded in death by his parents and his four siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Anchor Bible Church building fund, 275 Green Street West, Center Point, Iowa 52213.
