Shannen Doherty’s Dating History: Late ‘90210’ Alum’s Husbands, Boyfriends, Exes

Shannen got engaged to the Chicago-based real estate agent in 1991, one year after she rocketed to stardom on 90210. They broke up in 1991 and one year later, Chris told People, “Shannen can be a great, wonderful, loving person. But she wants to be a dictator. Shannen gets people to commit to her and then says, ‘See ya!’ She is like a kid who wants a toy, gets it and then gets tired of it.”

Dean Factor

The actress got engaged to the Max Factor cosmetics heir in 1993 after a whirlwind romance. Their turbulent relationship saw Dean take out a domestic violence restraining order against Shannen, claiming she tried to run him down with a car as well as threatened to hire men to beat him up. She denied the claims, and the former couple resolved their differences without any further court action and went their separate ways.

Ashley Hamilton

Husband No. 1! Shortly after splitting from Dean, Shannen married Ashley Hamilton, son of actor George Hamilton, on October 11, 1993, two weeks after the pair met. Six months later, they divorced in April 1994.

Rob Weiss

Shannen didn’t let a divorce get her down, as she quickly moved on to dating Rob in 1994. The pair got engaged in 1995, but broke things off before reconciling in 1996. He proved to be the Mallrats star’s most long-term love to date, as they would break up and make up all the way through 2000, when the couple called things off for good.

“He went through the most tumultuous times of my life with me, and played an essential part in my growing up,” Shannen told LeBeau’s LeBlog in 2020.

Rick Salomon

Shannen’s second marriage occurred even quicker than her first. She married the professional poker player two days after meeting him in 2002. It ended in a 2003 annulment, shortly before Rick’s infamous sex tape with Paris Hilton leaked, which was filmed in 2001, prior to him meeting Shannen.
“I’ve had some bad relationships and two failed marriages. It’s like, ‘Why did I pick these men?’ I guess it was about what I thought I could do to help them. But, in truth, I was only hurting myself,” the Charmed alum mused to Parade in 2010.

Kurt Iswarienko

After her disastrous two previous marriages, Shannen and photographer Kurt took their time, dating for two years before marrying in 2011. They were solid when the actress was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.

Kurt was still by Shannen’s side in 2020, when after going into remission, her cancer returned and had advanced to stage four.

In a June 2020 birthday tribute to her then-husband, the Another Day star wrote, “So many roads we have been down. Each one unique filled with challenges that easily could of been road blocks. Yet, your tenacity, strength and support helped us navigate the roads together. Always together,” in an Instagram post.

She continued, “You are the steady beat behind my back. The humor that keeps me smiling. The creativeness that inspires. The intelligence that sparks my brain. You are exceptional Kurt. For all that you are. All you have accomplished. The ALL of just being you. I love you. Happy birthday. I’ll always be The Edge to your Bono.”

Shannen filed for divorce in April 2023 after claiming Kurt cheated on her. During a December 2023 episode of her “Let’s Be Clear” podcast, she recalled, “I went into that surgery early in the morning, and I went in after I found out that my marriage was essentially over, that my husband had been carrying on an affair for two years.”

“At the end of the day, I just felt so incredibly unloved by someone I was with for 14 years. By someone that I loved with all my heart,” Shannen added. The pair reached a divorce settlement one day before her July 13, 2024, death.
