Queen Camilla Apparently Loves 'Bridgerton' as Much as We Do

Turns out 'The Crown' isn't her only guilty pleasure.

Queen Camilla is no stranger to daily life as British royalty and, as such, has dabbled in at least a few episodes of Netflix's steamy Regency-era romance series Bridgerton.

While visiting the 2024 Chelsea Flower Show in London on May 20, Camilla—accompanied by King Charles—was given a tour of the Bridgerton garden sponsored by Netflix. The garden is inspired by the female lead of its current third season, Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan).

As Camilla was ushered into the garden, royal reporter Rebecca English noted that Camilla said, “I watched the first lot,” referring to the popular television series. The first half of season 3 of Bridgerton premiered on May 16, with the remaining four episodes set to premiere on June 13.

This isn't the first Netflix show that Camilla has watched. Back in 2022, one of Charles' former communications directors, Kristina Kyriacou, told the British talk show Phil and Holly This Morning that Camilla watched The Crown in her free time—somewhat unsurprising, as Camilla is a featured character on the program.

“I think the Queen Consort will have definitely been watching it. I don’t think the King will have the time. I don’t think it’s a program which will tickle his interest,” Kyriacou said at the time. The former director noted that Camilla “keeps in touch with her family [and] her friends,” who were likely also watching The Crown because “it’s an enormous series.”

Of course, some of the plotlines on The Crown didn't agree with the members of the monarchy, with Kyriacou adding, "They prefer it wasn't rehashed, but it's business as usual for them."
