Princess Anne's equestrian accident and subsequent memory loss has worried her daughter, Zara Tindall. After the two made an appearance together at the 2024 Royal Ascot, Anne sustained a horse-related injury on June 23, which has left Tindall "shaken to the core," per OK!.

“This is exactly what Zara’s been worried about happening for years now, but her mom hasn’t had a chance to slow down with everyone else falling apart,” a source told the outlet. After King Charles and Kate Middleton's cancer diagnoses, the Princess Royal has stepped in to help out with official duties and is often dubbed as one of the hardest-working family members.

Anne, who is believed to have experienced "impact from a horse's head or legs," is suffering from a concussion, which has resulted in amnesia.

“It’s really shaken Zara to the core, and she’s desperately hoping this memory is temporary," the insider added. "This has been a huge wake-up call for everyone in the family, and they’re rightfully distressed.”

According to The Daily Express, the princess is "expected to make a full recovery" and has since been discharged from the hospital. The outlet added that she is "recovering slowly," per her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

On Monday, Anne released her first statement since the accident to announce the cancelation of her planned royal tour in Canada. According to Vanity Fair, the royal was set to visit the Newfoundland National War Memorial in honor of its centenary. The princess royal expressed her "deep regret" in a message shared by Canada Governor General Mary Simon.

“It is with deep regret that I am unable to be with you today, as you commemorate the brave efforts and sacrifices of the members of the Newfoundland Regiment who went into battle on the first day of the Somme,” Anne shared in the message. “I have fond memories of joining you in 2016, on the 99th occasion that the people of this Island commemorated the Battle of Beaumont Hamel, and I am deeply saddened that I’m unable to join you again, and I send you my warmest best wishes on this special day of commemoration.”
