The firm has paused most public engagements through July 4, due to England's general election, however, it was announced that the yearly celebration would still be taking place on the storied balcony of Buckingham Palace. King Charles is also confirmed to be attending, though, he will be changing up his entrance amid his cancer struggles (he'll ride in a carriage rather than on horse back). Kate Middleton has stayed out of the spotlight during her cancer treatment, but sources previously reported that the Princess of Wales was considering making a surprise appearance during the event. Charles announced his diagnosis back in February, while Middleton's revelation came in March after months of rumors and conspiracy theories. The future of the monarchy has become unclear during this time due to the dwindling number of members who have been able to work. However, if Middleton were to return for Trooping the Colour, Freeman noted that it could make a bigger statement about the firm's status.
