Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Were In "Love With Love"

Although Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's 20-year love story ultimately ended in divorce, the former couple was truly in love when they rekindled their romance back in 2021. But, they were also into the idea of love and the public's admiration for their relationship.

Following the news of their split, a source told People that their reunion happened very quickly and that the fans played into their decision to fully jump in. However, that doesn't take away from the fact that they really wanted things to work this time around.

"They were really going to give it a try, and they did," the insider said. "These are two people who are in love with love, and who wouldn't jump into that? And the world wanted it."

A separate source told the outlet that the two are just "very different people."

"She's super-public and wants to go out, and he's more of an introvert and is happy to hang out at home," the insider said.

After months of breakup rumors, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20, the two-year anniversary of their wedding celebration in Georgia. The multi-hyphenate filed in the Los Angeles County Superior Court without a lawyer and requested the judge to wave spousal support for both of them. The couple did not have a prenuptial agreement in place.

According to People, Lopez is "very disappointed and sad," but didn't get the impression that Affleck wanted to put any effort into repairing their relationship.

"He hasn't shown any commitment and interest in making their marriage work," a source said. "It's gotten to the point that she just needs to look out for herself."
