Business Channel Editor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the growth of the channel, including improving channel traffic, pageviews and engagements.
  • Responsible for content planning and coverage of business events. When necessary, attends together with the Sales and Marketing team, key client meetings and events particularly from key industries such as real estate/property, automotive, financial services, FMCG, QSR, pharma, etc. as part of the brand's pitch and relationship building.
  • Develops the Property section/page as a useful and relevant source of content for property buyers and as a viable section for property advertisers.
  • Monitors wire stories, including those from Asian News Network, social media, and other possible sources of business stories and features for the channel.
  • Updates the channel regularly and ensures that the stories and features posted comply with required SEO standards and practices so that these articles land in top search results and command a lead in search market share. These include headlines, focus keywords, alt text for images, related links, meta description, and proper use of tags.
  • Collaborates with the video, design and social media teams with regard to visual storytelling, amplification and discovery of channel content.
  • Uses data analytics in the production of news stories and trending topics/keywords that address market gaps and drive more traffic to the site.
  • Coordinates with IT department to ensure that all channel links are functioning.
  • Observes the Journalist’s Code of Ethics as well as approved social media policies and guidelines that may be drawn up and adopted by INQUIRER.net.
  • Does the yearly performance evaluation of his direct reports and endorses the evaluation rating for approval of the Managing Editor.
  • Participates in the daily story conferences, editors’ meetings, and annual planning, and also in Management meetings when the attendance is required.
  • Acts as gatekeeper to protect Inquirer.net from business leakages working hand in hand with the Sales and Marketing team.
  • Performs other related tasks that may be assigned by the Managing Editor and/or Editor in Chief from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • College graduate preferably major in journalism or other related field
  • At least 5 years experience as editor for a news organization, must have an experience in a real estate or property sector or in a related job
  • Computer skills, communication skills, writing skills, copy editing

Content Strategist (Sales and Marketing) | Cebu-based

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the content strategy directions of Brandroom, Marketing, and Sales for all projects, paid and internal.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Marketing Team to ensure smooth and timely production of all projects. Ensure timely delivery of all paid and internal marketing and branding projects with the goal of client and partner satisfaction.
  • Ensure that every content strategy implemented on campaigns and projects produced by BrandRoom succeeds in quantitative and qualitative metrics, measured through apt tools used internally by INQUIRER.net.
  • Ensure strict quality control for all Brandroom-led content and concepts with the guidance of the CDND Digital Advertising Officer.
  • Accountable for the pageviews targets of assigned projects and platforms and recommend strategies to meet agreed targets.
  • Work with Sales Team to develop content-for-revenue projects, and develop (pitch decks) creative content advertising concepts for production and implementation as advertisers or management required.
  • Objective assignment of roles and tasks to content creators and freelancers
  • Coordination with Inquirer.Net Brandroom / Marketing Team for client executions and requests, such as boosting
  • Responsible for the day-to-day administrative management of content creators and freelance pool (management of schedules, workloads, requirements, training, etc.)
  • Assume confidentiality in all projects and dealings.
  • Perform other related tasks that may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A graduate of Journalism, Communications, or Marketing course, or has worked in the media or marketing industry. Students and practitioners from adjacent courses or industries are welcome to apply.
  • At least 1-2 years experience in a related job
  • Has excellent writing, communications, and creative thought processing skills
  • Has the ability to process instructions and ideate based on set goals and objectives
  • Is abreast in the latest lifestyle, marketing, business and entertainment trends
  • Proficient in both Microsoft Office tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Google Workplace Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs).
  • Know-how in Adobe Photoshop and Canva is a plus
  • Can work under pressure

Junior Web Developer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain website features using modern web development practices.
  • Collaborate with the design and content teams to implement new features and enhancements.
  • Ensure the website is optimized for performance, SEO, and accessibility.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to website functionality and performance.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving our development processes.
  • Contribute to growing Knowledge Base articles by documenting processes, solutions, and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in web and systems development.
  • Work experience with the following:
  • WordPress core architecture and multisite.
  • Gutenberg Blocks.
  • Popular page builders such as Beaver Builder or Divi.
  • SEO best practices and Google Core Web Vitals.
  • Demonstrates expertise in both front-end and back-end development technologies, with a strong grasp of modern web development practices.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript.

Marketing Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts regular competitive reports/checks (marketing partnerships, advertising placements, editorial specials)
  • Assists the Marketing Associates in generating data for various site metrics and report analyses such as Site Statistics and social media performance.
  • Assists in marketing activations, internal activations/events, sales and marketing-led activities; be in close coordination with interns from the Sales and Marketing Internship Program.
  • Coordinates with the Marketing Associates for the procurement of marketing collaterals and items.
  • Coordinates administrative work (monitoring of marketing/POP!/sales-related promos; getting in touch with winners, social media blasts, user generated content management)
  • Creates and submits reports as needed by the Sales Team.
  • Monitors project timelines for BrandRoom in coordination with the Product Manager
  • Reports to the Associate Director of Sales and Marketing the group WIP/status.
  • Edits branded content/partner videos/multimedia projects as assigned by BrandRoom
  • Edits organic videos as assigned by InqPOP! Channel lead
  • Participates in the regular creative brainstorming sessions of BrandRoom and POP!

  • For billing purposes, creates completion reports for local direct sales placements in coordination with assigned Account Managers and finance team.
  • Ensures that all sales-related documentations are completed and submitted to finance before every 30th of the month.
  • Ensures that preparation of Weekly and Post Ad Summary Reports are in place:
  • Follow up regular performance reports of all currently running campaigns with Ad Ops.
  • Ensure submission of accurate post ad performance reports (together with end of campaign screenshots) as needed.

Multimedia Reporter (Editorial)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Writes news and feature stories based on information gathered from news coverage, interviews, statements and other possible sources of news produces journalistic content -- in the form of stories, images and videos -- for the website.
  • Takes photos, shoots video as required by the coverage.
  • Posts updates on social media (e.g. tweets and Facebook Live).
  • Cultivates sources and plans interviews for exclusive, in-depth or feature stories.
  • Adheres to the news organization’s prescribed editorial style and the Journalists’ Code of Ethics.
  • Performs General Assignments duties for the various INQUIRER.net news desk as assigned from time to time.
  • Performs other related tasks that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • College Graduate, preferably major in Journalism or Communication Arts.
  • Preferably 1-2 year experience in a related field; open to fresh graduates with related experience.

Sales and Marketing Assistant | Cebu based

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedules and implements CDND advertising campaigns by uploading all marketing/partner content (social media and website) as stated in signed contracts.
  • Ensures that all client campaigns are executed on time.
  • Maintains client advertising deliverable logs and ensures all advertising execution links are saved for easy tracking.
  • Delivery of post-campaign reporting.
  • Update sales decks and info kits monthly for advertising clients.
  • Develops CDND in-house brand campaigns and brand content for revenue purposes and is accountable for the brand/marketing push of CDND assets, and platforms by way of marketing campaigns.
  • Works on all Cebu-based marketing partnership projects:
  • Seek out relevant partnerships.

  • Works on talent management for CDN Digital.
  • Accountable for the regular audience/advertiser/readership promotion of CDND.
  • Performs other related tasks that may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • College Graduate, preferably Marketing Management/Business Management and/or other related courses.
  • Must be willing to be based in Cebu, In-depth knowledge of all things Cebu, Required languages/dialects: Cebuano, English, Filipino, Must be able to thrive working in a virtual/remote setting.
