The Nora Branch is closed for an extended renovation.

The updated building will include:

  • Updated entrance with a drive-up return
  • Updated restrooms
  • Group Study and Tutoring Rooms
  • Updated Community Room for 60
  • Comfort Room adjacent to the Children's Area
  • Increased access to outlets for device charging
  • Updated mechanical and light systems
  • Seeking LEEDv4 Silver Certification for energy and resource conservation

Beginning December 2, 2023, the Nora Branch hold pickup location will be the College Avenue Branch. You can change your pickup location to another branch by clicking “My Account” on our website, or ask a staff member for assistance.

The Nora Branch book drop will NOT be open. Patrons should return items to alternate locations.

During the closure, in addition to College Avenue, please visit our other Northeast side locations: Fort Ben (open on Sundays), and Lawrence.

Renewals may be done in person, by phone through Telephone Renewal at 317-275-4441, or on the website at “My Account.”

If you are unable to visit one of the alternate locations or have transportation concerns, feel free to reach out to our Outreach Department at 317-275-4075 for home delivery service.

Branch History

A library for the rapidly-expanding area of suburban Washington Township was made possible by the donation of a 2.56 acre lot from Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Eiteljorg in 1968. The Nora Branch opened in 1971 on North Guilford Avenue and was expanded to 18,500-square-feet in 1990.
