- The story describes that health-care reform in Hong Kong is imperative, and an unconventional reform plan is to privatize public hospitals, raise funds through listing to maintain operations, with the leading public hospital, Ming Cheng Bei Hospital, becoming a pilot for the reform. Vice President and Chief Physician of Brain Neurosurgery, Yang Yitao, has deployed a five-year plan to build Ming Cheng Bei into a medical kingdom with a fund-raising of over 10 billion HK dollars, and even aspires to become the highest spokesperson. Tang Ming, the chief physician of cardio-thoracic and pulmonary surgery, has a vastly different philosophy from Yitao, and his ex-wife Su Yi is caught up in their whirlpool, becoming a grinding force in their struggle. With the concept of defending the lives of patients and placing human life above the medical system, Tang Ming and his disciple Pan Huaide fought side by side, but were dragged into a power game to resist medical reform by Dean Lui Zhongxue. Yitao, Tang Ming, emergency room doctor Su Yi, cardio-thoracic and pulmonary doctor Cheng Luowen, neurosurgeon Lui Aining, and others are a group of strong people dressed in white robes. Their opponents are not only diseases, but also human greed and blinded mind.
