Ashley Zukerman was born in Santa Monica, California, but was raised in Australia after his family moved to the Melbourne area when he was two. He went to Wesley College in Melbourne on the Glen Waverley campus, then went on to attend the Victorian College of the Arts, graduating in 2006. He started on the stage, shining in a well-regarded performance in the play The History Boys with the Melbourne Theatre Company, which was directed by Peter Evans. In 2010, he became known in the United States in his role in HBO’s miniseries, The Pacific.
Zukerman is best known for his strong performance in the Australian police drama, Rush. His character in that show, Senior Constable Michael Sandrelli, is one in which his performance earned a nomination for Australia’s prestigious 2009 Graham Kennedy Award for Most Outstanding New Talent. He also co-founded a production company called Inside Job Productions.
