No crimes. No silly humor. This show tried to change Spanish TV and succeeded in some way.
After losing his child, Julio Salgado (excellent Ginés García Millán) left his wife, his job, his life in the city... and started a new one in Miraflores, a small town in the country. By discovering himself, he learned that happiness lies in the small things, and found love when he was trying to avoid it. "Un lugar en el mundo" was the Spanish 'Northern exposure' or the Spanish 'Everwood'.
This TV show was canceled after five weeks because it tried to make the audience think, because it tried to make them feel. At least, its message is still alive: happiness is where you are.
