Image Comics ruled the year of 2024 with a plethora of mini-series to prepare comic book fans for the next wave of the Energon Universe; teams have been built, unlikely alliances have been made, and there’s still more to come. Meanwhile, Marvel and DC Comics came through with great titles of their own that had readers as excited about both as ever.

Over the past few weeks, the Spider-Man 4 rumors have really picked up steam, with everyone from Venom, Ghost Rider and Black Cat, to Daredevil, Mephisto and Knull mentioned as possible allies and foes for Tom Holland's web-slinger in his next solo outing.

Previous big-screen Peter Parkers Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield both returned for Spider-Man: No Way Home, joining Tom Holland's current MCU wall-crawler for a Multiversal adventure that went on to take in over $1 billion worldwide.

There have been persistent rumors that both actors are set to reprise their respective roles for the still untitled Spider-Man 4, but if plans are in place, Garfield is not about to confirm anything.

“I’m gonna disappoint you,” he tells GQ. “Yeah, no. But I know no one’s gonna trust anything I say from now on.”

Garfield is referring to the numerous times he denied the rumors that he was set to return for No Way Home, only to swing onto the screen alongside Holland and Maguire.

There's a huge amount of excitement among Marvel fans to see Ghost Rider return to our screens in a new movie, but it sounds like the Spirit of Vengeance might race back to television instead. 

According to scooper @MyTimeToShineH, the current plan is for Ghost Rider to be a Disney+ TV series. We can't imagine a show like that would be cheap to produce given the special effects involved but it might still be a safer bet than another feature. 

From there, it's easy to imagine the anti-hero being part of the long-rumoured Midnight Sons movie. This latest rumour comes not too long after the leaker claimed that an Agents of Atlas show is also in the works for Disney+. 

Marvel Studios has been sitting on the rights to the Ghost Rider character for years and allowed Marvel Television to use the Robbie Reyes version in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a brief spell.

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, the McU's Peter Parker did battle with Multiversal villains, the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Electro, Sandman, and The Lizard.

Unfortunately, that ragtag group never got a sixth member even though Venom was once considered (concept art has also shown scrapped scenes featuring The Vulture and Mysterio). That was a missed trick on Marvel Studios' part, though we've long suspected it was to save the villainous team for a Sony Pictures project or...Spider-Man 6, perhaps?

What If...? season 3 will be the show's last season and, for many fans, the series never quite reached its full potential. For every episode that took full advantage of the premise - the introductions of Captain Carter and T'Challa Star-Lord, for example - there have been throwaway efforts adding little to the Multiverse Saga. 

This final batch of episodes looks to end on a high, though, as we'll get a Mjolnir-wielding Storm in what promises to be a moment showing just how good What If...? can be.

We're also hoping the groundwork will be laid for The Watcher to play a role in the next Avengers movies, Doomsday and Secret Wars.

There are likely many scrapped ideas that haven't made it into the Disney+ series, of course, and in an interview with Agents of Fandom, director Bryan Andrews revealed who Marvel Studios said they couldn't include in season 3.

Thanks to Deadline, we have the full Deadpool & Wolverine screenplay for you to read. While it is the final version - meaning there are no deleted scenes with Daredevil and Ghost Rider, for example - there are still some big changes from what we saw in theaters this summer.

It's mostly the jokes and dialogue that are different, though we also get some fantastic descriptions of certain scenes; Henry Cavill's MCU debut as the Cavillrine, for example, is among them (he's code-named "Hopper-rene" in one of many nods to Stranger Things meant to hide the identities of certain characters).

Moon Knight is at this point one of the most popular MCU superheroes as his solo Disney+ series was a great success for the streaming platform. Disney+ shows are often categorized as mini-series, meaning they have a predetermined amount of episodes and Moon Knight is no exception to this “rule.”

2025's Free Comic Book Day is on May 3 and Marvel Comics has announced stories which will serve as entry points for all-new eras of Fantastic Four and Amazing Spider-Man, a prelude to an upcoming X-Men saga, and a glimpse at the very first event set in the new Ultimate Universe.

For the second year in a row, Marvel will also present a Star Wars Free Comic Book Day title which explores what's to come in the Galaxy Far, Far Away. Plus, we'll see creators and characters from different cultures, communities, and identities spotlighted in a special Free Comic Book edition of Marvel's Voices.

Finally, those of you searching for the perfect first comic book for the young ones in your life with an all-new Free Comic Book Day: Spidey & His Amazing Friends.

Marvel Studios has been sitting on the Ghost Rider rights for years, allowing Marvel Television to use the Robbie Reyes version in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a brief spell. Recently, however, rumours have persisted that Johnny Blaze is being lined up to make his MCU debut.

Initially, we heard that might happen in a "Marvel Studios Special Presentation," but with Disney shifting its focus away from Disney+ in a bid to increase theatrical profits, those plans might have fallen by the wayside. 

The Spirit of Vengeance is bound to show up somewhere down the line, but before we get a new version, we may see a familiar flaming face.

According to scooper @MyTimeToShineH, Ghost Rider and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance star Nicolas Cage is now in "active talks" to reprise the role. The project he's being eyed for isn't named, though Avengers: Doomsday and/or Avengers: Secret Wars are most likely.

A TV adaptation of EA’s best-selling sci-fi video game franchise “Mass Effect” is in the works at Amazon MGM Studios.

The project will be written and executive produced by Daniel Casey. Other executive producers include Karim Zreik under his Cedar Tree Productions banner’s overall deal, Ari Arad and EA’s Michael Gamble.

News of the TV series was first revealed back in 2021, but there had been no updates since then. There have also been various failed attempts to adapt the game into a feature film. Specific plot details for the upcoming series have not been disclosed.

The video game franchise depicts a distant future where humanity and several alien civilizations have colonized the galaxy using technology left behind by advanced precursor civilizations.

The first three games in the triology follow Commander Shepard, who attemps to save the Milky Way Galaxy from a race of ancient, hibernating machines known as the Reapers.
