For All Mankind’s latest time jump will come with a couple growth spurts.

The Apple TV+ alt-history drama has enlisted The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Sean Kaufman to play an older version of Kelly Baldwin and Alexei Poletov’s son, Alex, our sister site Deadline reports. The character, who is named after his late father, was seen in Season 4 as an eight-year-old (portrayed by Ezrah Lin). Per tradition, the series jumped forward in time at the end of its last finale from 2003 to 2012.

Exclusive: After Homicide: Life on the Street landed on Peacock several weeks back, Fremantle has struck its first major deals for the remastered version of NBC’s iconic police series, while senior international exec Bob McCourt has teased a potential remake.

Homicide: Life on the Street is streaming on Peacock, bringing joy to fans of its original ’90s run, fans of Andre Braugher, and those who will become fans after their first viewing.

There’s no question that Homicide: Life on The Street should be considered part of the Dick Wolf universe.

The gritty 1990s police drama was revolutionary in several ways, some of which make it feel refreshingly modern when watching it on Peacock several decades after it ended.

John Munch Was The Bridge Between Shows The Character Originated on Homicide Before Transferring To Svu

The most obvious reason Homicide should be considered part of the Dick Wolf universe is that Richard Belzer’s John Munch appeared on both Homicide and Law & Order: Svu.

Munch was quite the traveler after Homicide ended, making cameos in The X-Files and The Wire in addition to being part of the Svu unit for its first 15 seasons.

New data from Antenna shows that Peacock grew substantially thanks to the Paris Olympics.

Peacock is ready to claim the gold medal for its 2024 Paris Olympics coverage. NBCUniversal touted its ratings for the games soon after they concluded, revealing that 30.6 million people had tuned into a linear channel like NBC or USA Network to watch coverage and that 23.5 billion minutes were streamed over the course of the Games on Peacock. The data did not include the number of new subscribers drawn to Peacock by the Olympics, but a new analysis from Antenna gives an insight into just how many new customers Peacock might have gained thanks to its superior Olympics coverage.

Homicide: Life on the Street — the most sought-after, non-streaming show in a July 2023 TVLine poll, and the recipient of 17 Emmy nominations and four wins during its 1993-1999 run on NBC — is finally ready to be streamed.

TVLine has learned that all seven seasons of the acclaimed drama series as well as 2000’s Homicide: The Movie wrap-up, all remastered to HD and 4K for the first time, will begin streaming Monday, Aug. 19 on Peacock.

“Shōgun” led the 40th Television Critics Association Awards on Friday with four wins, including Program of the Year.

The FX show prevailed in every category in which it was nominated as it also won drama series and new program, while Anna Sawai defeated co-star Hiroyuki Sanada for the gender-neutral Individual Achievement in Drama prize. Sawai is the ninth consecutive woman to win the award.

With five nominations apiece, “Shōgun” co-led nominations alongside “Baby Reindeer” and “Ripley.” “Baby Reindeer” won limited series/TV movie/specials, but “Ripley” went 0-5. “Baby Reindeer,” “Ripley,” two limited series, and three-time nominee “Fargo,” an anthology series, were inexplicably nominated in both the limited series/TV movie/specials category and the drama category.

The 40th annual TCA Awards released its list of winners on Friday ahead of the first in-person ceremony in five years. FX’s “Shōgun” led the winners’ circle, taking home four prizes from the Television Critics Assn. — including individual achievement in drama for Anna Sawai, as well as outstanding achievement in drama, program of the year and new program of the year.

The latest season of Max’s “Hacks” also saw success with Jean Smart taking the award for individual achievement in comedy and the series taking home the outstanding achievement in comedy award, beating out last year’s winner, “The Bear,” and 2022’s winner, “Abbott Elementary.”

The TCA recognized David Lynch and Mark Frost’s mystery series “Twin Peaks” with the Heritage Award for its incredible significance and impact. The 1990 series, which was led by Kyle MacLachlan, ran for two seasons.

The Television Critics Association (TCA) has unveiled the winners for its 2024 awards ceremony.

The 40th annual TCA Awards honored outstanding programming from the 2023-2024 TV season, with “Shōgun” taking home a league-leading four wins including the top prize, the Program of the Year Award. The FX on Hulu series was recently renewed for Seasons 2 and 3.

The winners were selected by the TCA’s membership of more than 230 professional television journalists from across the United States and Canada. Fan-favorite shows “Hacks,” “Baby Reindeer,” and “Doctor Who” also won numerous awards, as did docuseries “Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids” and reality show “The Traitors.”

“It was a year of brilliant television, from an epic historical drama to a harrowing documentary,” Jacqueline Cutler, TCA president, said. “We’re thrilled to honor all who created these shows, often against great odds, as many were worked on during the pandemic and stopped for the strikes.

Crazy Town frontman Shifty Shellshock, who appeared on two seasons of VH1’s Celebrity Rehab, died Monday. He was 49 years old.

According to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office, Shellshock was found dead at an undisclosed residence. A cause of death has not been determined; an investigation is underway.

Homicide: Life On the Street is coming to streaming, according to David Simon, author of Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets, the book on which the show created by Paul Attanasio was based.

In a new post on social media, Simon said that NBC had cleared the music used on the series, and it would be coming to a streaming platform, with NBCUniversal’s Peacock the logical home.

“Word is that NBC has managed to finally secure the music rights necessary to sell Homicide: Life On The Streets to a streaming platform,” read the post shared by Simon on X, formerly known as Twitter.”

It’s always a good time to be in the Sarah Paulson business, but that’s especially true this year. The acclaimed performer recently scored her first-ever Tony Award nomination for her performance in “Appropriate” and she is widely predicted to land double Emmy Award nominations for her guest acting appearances in the FX comedy series “The Bear” and Prime Video drama series “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” If that were to happen when the 2024 Emmy nominations are announced in July, Paulson would join a select few performers to receive concurrent guest-acting nominations since the categories were standardized in 1989.

So far, only 10 actors have received guest-acting nominations in the comedy and drama categories in the same year. Tony Lo Bianco, who played the key role of Sal Boca in Best Picture Oscar winner The French Connection and appeared in more than 100 films and TV shows during a 60-year screen career, died Tuesday of prostate cancer at his home in Maryland. He was 87.

A rep confirmed his death to Fox News today.

Lo Bianco got his start guesting on 1960s TV series including The Doctors, Get Smart! and N.Y.P.D. before landing a big-screen star turn in 1970’s The Honeymoon Killers. That led to his signature role as Salvatore “Sal” Buco in William Friedkin’s seminal New York crime drama The French Connection the following year. His character is at the center of a drug deal followed by NYPD Detective Jimmy “Popeye” Doyle (Gene Hackman). The film won five Oscars including Best Picture and Lead Actor for Hackman.

The Wire producer and longtime Baltimore chronicler David Simon ripped into conspiracists spreading unfounded theories that today’s tragic and deadly collapse of the city’s Francis Scott Key Bridge could be a terrorist attack.

Simon, a reporter for the Baltimore Sun before creating Homicide: Life On The Street, reserved a special ire for Marjorie Taylor Greene, calling the rumor-mongering congresswoman a “complete submoronic pratfall of a human being.”

“Are you intentional or just an accident?,” Simon asked Greene in a post on X/Twitter after the Republican asked about the cargo ship’s crash into the bridge, “Is this an intentional attack or an accident?”

Earlier today, William DelBagno, the FBI Special Agent in Charge, said there are no indications of terrorism. But that didn’t stop the conspiracy-minded from taking to social media – or Simon from taking them on.

Chelsea Peretti was choked up remembering her deceased Brooklyn 99 co-star, Andre Braugher, during an interview with The Talk on Friday, recalling that Braugher was “always singing” while on the lot for shoots.
