Meghdeep Bose is an Indian Music Composer, Producer, Arranger & Singer. He is known for his work in songs like Swag Se Swagat , Main Hoon Hero Tera, Bol Do Na Zara, and films like MS Dhoni, Sarbjit, Black Prince etc.
Meghdeep was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. His father, Dilip Bose from Indore, is a well renowned Singer & Music Composer among the Hindi Speaking Christian Communities & Priest Congregations of India. Being the fourth generation of musicians in the family, he was nourished with rich musicality and sensibilities.
Having a strong attraction & appreciation towards music since an early age, Meghdeep spent majority of his childhood in the studios where his father used to conduct sessions for his various projects. Meghdeep finally began his career under his father while assisting him on various Hindi Gospel Projects. In 2002 the family moved to Bhopal where he was put in to St. Joseph's Co-ed School. While his schooling here, Meghdeep was thoroughly encouraged & pushed ahead by the school's music instructor Mr. Abhijeet Raut to pursue his dream to learn guitar.
Being a quick learner he started performing regularly for various recordings & stage shows locally. Initially a guitarist & singer, Meghdeep eventually graduated to an arranger/programmer whilst working for his father. By the age of 17, he felt a strong need to take up western classical music to strengthen his foundation as a music arranger. Due to lack of a western classical teacher locally, Meghdeep began travelling to Mumbai every month to learn Piano under Dr. Fr. Charles Vas SVD, eventually graduating through grades under the curriculum of Trinity College of Music, London (Guildhall). Around the same time he also underwent a thorough study of Rabindra Sangeet, under Mrs. Madhuri Mukherjee in Bhopal itself where he further went on to receive a "Sangeet Sri" from Rabindra Bharti University (via Rabindra Sangam). He's received basic training in Tabla & Indian Classical Vocals under Pt. Kiran Deshpande, Bhopal. Though a self made guitarist & arranger, he holds in high regards Mr. Jerson Antony (Cochin) as a huge influence and inspiration to his works. Meghdeep holds a bachelor's degree in business administration (specialised in marketing) from the Bhopal School of Social Sciences.
Career
After a 5 years long tenure under his father, Meghdeep decided to move on and explore his dreams to reach out to Cinematic Horizons. In the meantime he collaborated with artists like Mahalakshmi Iyer, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Jerson Antony etc. on various private projects.
Meghdeep was selected for the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Boston in 2012 where he received the Dean's Merit Award and near to a 50% Scholarship on tuition. Even after the waivers, the family's economic conditions didn't allow him to attend Berklee.
With no further delays he shifted to Mumbai in 2013, where he began working under Raju Singh as an assistant & arranger for various film & television scores.
In 2015 Amaal Mallik overheard Meghdeep's work at YRF studios, Mumbai and offered him to arrange & produce the song "Main Hoon Hero Tera" which brought the producer a lot of good name among the people within the industry. From there on Amaal went on to collaborate with Meghdeep on various popular songs like Tumhe Apna Banane ka (Hate Story 3), Tu Bhula Jise (Airlift), Bol Do Na Zara (Azhar), Jab tak (M.S. Dhoni) etc.
Further, Meghdeep went on to be summoned by Composers like Pritam, Vishal Shekhar, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Salim Sulaiman, Amit Trivedi, Ram Sampath, Anu Malik, SS Thaman, Clinton Cerejo, Jatinder Shah, Sandesh Shandilya etc.
Meghdeep won as the Best Music Producer consecutively for two years (2017 & 2018), at the IRAA (Indian Recording Arts Academy) Awards for his works on Songs Bol Do Na Zara (2017) & Uff Ye noor (2018)
