Kelly Richardson's education includes a BA from UC Berkeley in Spanish and Theater, an MFA in Creative Writing from New York University, and dance training at The Ailey School in New York City. Before embarking on a career in film, she enjoyed a range of jobs including Ski and Snowboard instructor, translator, foreign language teacher, circus performer, and Scuba Rescue Diver and Divemaster. With the support of a Fulbright scholarship, she directed the award-winning documentary film, WITHOUT A NET (2012), which was shot entirely in Portuguese in Rio de Janeiro, and screened in many film festivals around the world.
