Jannette Bloom
- Actress
- Director
- Writer
Born in Maryland, Jannette moved to Los Angeles where she trained for 5 years in acting with Gregory Berger-Sobeck after getting her BA in film from Emerson College. Being dissatisfied with the available roles for women, Jannette decided to put her filmmaking skills to good
use. She teamed up with writing partner and fellow actress Alyssa Carpenter, and their first screenplay "Narcissa" was a 2012 Nicholl Fellowship quarter-finalist. This led to a partnership with BCDF Pictures to produce their second script, "Mahjong and the West," which premiered at the Woodstock Film Festival in 2014. Most recently Jannette completed her feature directorial debut "Sing to Me Sylvie," a music romance in the vein of the film "Once," which utilizes her background playing keyboard and singing in bands, and the film will begin the festival circuit in 2021.
