Kevin Haefelin (he/him) is a writer-director from Switzerland based between New York, Geneva and Tokyo. He holds an MFA in directing and screenwriting from Columbia University and is a member of the Swiss Film Academy and BAFTA. His latest short film, "The Fuse," qualified for the 96th Academy Awards (Oscars®) and won the Short Film Showcase at the 33rd Gotham Awards in New York. The film is distributed on Focus Features streaming platforms and featured on JetBlue in-flight catalog.
His films have been invited to 32 countries within international film festival programs, including 18 Academy Awards® qualifying festivals, and have won over 60 awards. His body of work has been showcased at museums and landmarks such as the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum and Kyoto Museum, as well as the Brooklyn Museum, Lincoln Center, World Trade Center, and Apollo Theatre in New York City.
Kevin is an alum of Torino Film Lab and participated in Kyoto Filmmakers Lab. He was nominated for the Pardi di Domani Award at the Locarno Film Festival, IMDb New Filmmakers Awards, 2x BAFTA Student Film Awards, and 2x Swiss Academy Awards (Quartz).
