Writer/Director Aric Avelino is an award-winning filmmaker who's feature film directorial debut, "American Gun" starred Academy Award winners Forest Whitaker and Marcia Gay Harden alongside Golden Globe nominee Donald Sutherland and Independent Spirit Award nominee Linda Cardellini. The film was featured at SXSW and Toronto Film Festivals, and was nominated for three Film Independent Spirit Awards including "Best Feature Film". In 2017, Avelino was selected as a fellow for the Sundance Institute TV Episodic Lab for his script "Hope, AR" and later was accepted into the 2018 Warner Bros. Directing Workshop. Recently, he has directed "Behind the Movement", a narrative film profiling Rosa Parks, the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the birth of the Civil Rights Movement.
