Completed his Masters in film in 2008 at Victoria University (in Wellington, New Zealand). His MA was primarily an authorship study of New Zealand experimental film-maker Joanna Margaret Paul, drawing on the theories of Gilles Deleuze, Vivian Sobchack, Walter Benjamin and Michel Foucault.
