Ha comenzado el rodaje de “Terra Alta”, la nueva serie original de Movistar Plus+ que adapta la novela homónima de Javier Cercas. Se trata de un thriller policíaco cuyo punto de partida es el asesinato de dos importantes empresarios en Cataluña con una investigación a cargo de un policía con un pasado oculto.

“Terra Alta”, situada en la comarca de la Terra Alta, en Tarragona, es un lugar de belleza salvaje, donde aún sangran las cicatrices de la Guerra Civil. Un territorio tranquilo hasta que el asesinato de Francisco y Rosa Adell, patriarcas de la familia más rica y poderosa del lugar, conmociona a todos. Este suceso hace que Melchor Marín, uno de los agentes encargados de la investigación, reviva su oscuro, complejo y olvidado pasado.

In a glittering event at Madrid’s Florida Park, Spain’s Secuoya Studios brought out its big guns, led by its president James Costos and Secuoya Content Group CEO Raúl Berdonés, to tout the fast-growing company’s slate, led by its 10-episode series “Zorro,” its most ambitious production.

The series pilot will be unveiled at Mipcom in a special screening on Oct. 15, noted Berdonés, who added that the two-year-old company has made a strong commitment to sustainable production.

“Zorro,” starring Miguel Bernardeau and Renata Notni, will be exclusively available on Prime Video in Latin America, the U.S., Spain, Andorra, and Portugal in the first half of 2024, followed by its broadcast on Spain’s Tve. Mediawan handles international distribution.

The filmmaker is engrossed in post-production for his seventh feature, an adaptation of the Javier Cercas novel Outlaws, shot last autumn and starring a cast of young actors. After flirting with musical comedy in Yucatán (2018), Daniel Monzón is now trying his hand at a film about small-time delinquents in the guise of Las leyes de la frontera (lit. “The Laws of the Border”), a movie that he shot during the last few months of 2020 in various locations around Catalonia and which is now in post-production.
