As we head into the delayed 2023-24 TV season, many of our favorite shows are saying goodbye to beloved cast members.

To be honest, though, the big casting shake-ups are happening across Dick Wolf's rich tapestry of shows, and the latest fills us with dread.

FBI: International is the unlucky show getting the latest shake-up.

Heida Reed, who plays Special Agent Jamie Kellet, is being written out of the show early into its third season.

It doesn't sound like Kellet decided to walk away from the show, with sources telling TVLine that it was for creative reasons.

The casting news could be a massive spoiler for FBI: International Season 3, given that the freshman season concluded with a bomb exploding at the team's offices.

Seal Team is Ending a Season Too Late

With fans waiting months for clarity on who might have survived, we may have an answer for who did not survive.

Stephen King adaptations have always been hit and miss. Before Mike Flanagan came along, there was one filmmaker who could always be trusted with King’s material: Frank Darabont, whose first foray into filmmaking was a short adaptation of “The Woman in the Room.” After making a name for himself as a screenwriter with the likes of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and The Blob, Darabont made his feature directorial debut with 1994’s The Shawshank Redemption and followed it up with The Green Mile in 1999.

His thus-far final King adaptation came in 2007 with The Mist, which finds a group of locals trapped in a grocery store while an ominous fog shrouding mysterious secrets envelopes their quaint Maine town. A microcosm of any community, the supermarket is a canny setting for a contained thriller. The divisive mob mentality and pigheaded self-righteousness that manifests under pressure is even more poignant in a post-Trump world.

Shantel VanSanten has had many memorable roles throughout her impressive career on the small screen.

After breaking through as Quinn James on One Tree Hill in 2009, she's gone on to play Patty Spivot on The Flash, Julie Swagger on Shooter, and, more importantly, Karen Baldwin on For All Mankind.

In 2022, she joined the cast of FBI in the recurring role of Nina Chase, who blossomed into one of the best characters on the show.

Nina was a recurring player during Missy Peregrym's absence and didn't get much to do after the former's return.

Thankfully, the creatives at the wheel of the FBI franchise have come up with the inspired decision of shipping VanSanten over to FBI: Most Wanted.

It's an exciting time because there are many possibilities about how this will play out, so let's dive in.

Easier Crossover Potential

There will (presumably) be a crossover romance on at least one of Dick Wolf‘s franchises this season. Shantel VanSanten, who debuted as Special Agent Nina Chase, with whom John Boyd‘s Stuart Scola had a history, in FBI Season 4, is moving over to one of the show’s spinoffs, Most Wanted, for its upcoming fifth season, according to Deadline. She also recurred in FBI Season 5 and had a major role in the big, three-show crossover, though due to Nina’s injuries overseas, she didn’t work with the Fugitive Task Force of Most Wanted once they joined the FBI and International teams on the case. This news comes after it was announced in August that Most Wanted would be losing one of its agents, with Alexa Davalos, who played Kristin Gaines since Season 3, not returning. Lionsgate has announced that they will be giving the 2007 Stephen King adaptation The Mist (watch it Here) a 4K release on October 3rd – and this release will include the black and white version of the film! Director Frank Darabont put together a black and white version of The Mist because he had initially envisioned shooting the movie that way.

The 4K release will include a steelbook edition, a regular edition, and a Best Buy exclusive edition. But no matter which of these you buy, you’ll be getting both the color version of The Mist and the black and white version on the 4K disc. Copies of one edition can be pre-ordered on Amazon.

The news may shock series viewers because there was no hint that Davalos was leaving the series in the season four finale. It sounds like it was a surprise for the actor as well.

Big Brother houseguest Luke Valentine has been removed from the Season 25 game, following his use of a racial slur.

“Luke violated the Big Brother code of conduct and there is zero tolerance in the house for using a racial slur,” reads a statement from CBS and Big Brother‘s producers. “He has been removed from the house. His departure will be addressed in Thursday night’s show.”

With the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes well underway, it's surprising that casting news is trickling out for broadcast TV dramas.

Unfortunately, the news we're about to share will not come as good news for fans of FBI: Most Wanted.

Per Deadline, Alexa Davalos is no longer part of the CBS procedural's expansive cast.

Per the outlet, the actress was "informed by a producer on set that she won't be coming back after filming her last scene from Season 4 several months ago."

The decision means there will be no on-screen farewell for Kristin Gaines.

As a result, FBI: Most Wanted Season 5 Episode 1 will likely explain Kristin's departure.

Unfortunately, at the end of FBI: Most Wanted Season 4, there was no indication that Kristin was plotting her departure from the team.

It's sad for the fans who were invested in her arc because it means the resolution probably won't land as well as it should.

Exclusive: With two Hollywood strikes, it’s unclear when CBS’ FBI: Most Wanted will return for a fifth season, but when it does, it will be without one of its series regulars, Alexa Davalos.

The news likely will come as a surprise to fans became there was no hint in the Season 4 finale that Davalos’ character, Special Agent Kristin Gaines, might be departing the series from Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television.

The exit may have come as a surprise to many on the show, too, including possibly Davalos. I hear she was informed by a producer on set that she won’t be coming back after filming her last scene from Season 4 several months ago. According to multiple sources, the conversation — and Davalos’ departure — were amicable.

Striking writers in New York City said they disrupted filming of FBI: Most Wanted for a second straight day by heading off a planned location shoot at a public park in Brooklyn on Friday morning and later by causing slowdowns of work on the Dick Wolf-ep’d crime drama starring Dylan McDermott and Alexa Davalos at a nearby soundstage.

Union organizers tipped off to a location shoot at Monsignor McGolrick Park in the Greenpoint neighborhood showed up at 7 a.m. Friday morning and waited, but no film crew showed up, representatives from the Writers Guild of America East told Deadline.

It was unclear whether the show’s producers paused filming because of picketers, but WGA representatives said they saw call sheets confirming the shoot there, and they took credit for intercepting it before it could get underway.
