John was born in Arnprior, Ontario, Canada and raised in neighboring
Nepean/Ottawa. He's lived in Montreal, Toronto, Atlanta and Los Angeles.
Well traveled, - 25 countries - and has worked in 22 of them.
John was a member of the Canadian Trampoline Team before switching sports and competing for the Canadian Aerial Freestyle Ski team. During his competitive days he traveled the world and won world cup medals in both trampoline and aerial skiing. Highlights include; 4 time National trampoline champion, Bronze medalist at the World Trampoline Championships and Silver medalist at the World Freestyle Skiing Championships.
Upon retiring from skiing he ventured into the film industry as an actor and stuntman. He studied acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York and afterward with Warren Robertson in Montreal for 5 years. His first job was a role playing himself - John Ross, World Cup Champion - in Snowboard Academy ... which unfortunately went straight to video.
Since then however, John has successfully worked as an actor, writer, director, stuntman, rigger, stunt and fight coordinator. Recently he had the pleasure of working for Cirque Du Soleil - IRIS at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles as an aerial rigger from November 2011 until the shows closing in January of 2013. In 2014 he joined Marvel Universe Live for 2 months as Lead Rigger.
In 2010 he wrote and directed a 10-minute action short - The Key - and won the Peoples Choice Award at the 2010 Topanga Film Festival.
