Naeem Hashmi was a renowned and veteran film actor,Naat song lyricist for film Noor-E-Islam (1957) and a film producer-director of Pakistan. He acted in over 100 films in both British India and later in Pakistan. Peak of his professional career came, when he wrote the heart-touching lyrics of a Naat song, 'Shah-E-Madina,Yasreb Ke Waali' sung by Saleem Raza and Zubaida Khanum for the above mentioned film and it became a run-away super-hit Naat song in 1957 in Pakistan. People still fondly listen to it in 2015. Superb music for this Naat song was composed by Hasan Latif. Naeem Hashmi's elder son Khawar Naeem Hashmi is a famous Pakistani news reporter for Geo News Channel in 2015. Naeem Hashmi died on April 26,1976 in Lahore,Punjab, Pakistan due to diabetic complications.
