Camille Friend
- Make-Up Department
In our current culture of celebrity hair stylists and makeup artists, Los Angeles based Camille Friend is one to watch in the years ahead. As a young child Camille had her heart set on a career in the beauty business. Coming from a family of hairstylists, Camille spent her childhood in salons developing skills and product knowledge that gained her entry into the world of hairstyling, and enabled her foray into a professional career by the tender age of seventeen.
It didn't take long for Camille to map out a plan that took her from her hometown of Tempe, Arizona to Los Angeles to further her career. Within two years of her landing in L.A., Camille had established herself as a prominent hairstylist.
Camille landed a coveted position with Sebastian International as a platform instructor and color specialist by training at the industries most reputable establishments such as Vidal Sassoon and John Atchinson, where she learned master precision haircutting techniques.
This in depth training prepared Camille for her future in the entertainment business, where by her mid-twenties, Camille Friend was on her way to becoming a forerunner in the industry.
Camille's credits cover all mediums from film to television, to print and music videos. Her diversity of impressive movie projects read like a well-developed script. Some of Camille's feature films include Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, The Hunger Games Mockingjay Pt. 1&2, Hateful 8, Dreamgirls, Captain America-Civil War, Django, Miles Ahead, and The Help, to name a few.
Camille's dexterous talents reflect her ability to do period looks that require her expertise with lace front wigs. Utilizing her creativity and specialized skills, Camille has worked with such luminary entertainers as Elizabeth Banks, Sam Jackson, Julianne Moore, and Don Cheadle, among others.
This sort of success comes from Camille's dedication, training and innovative skills as Camille modestly states, "A lot of my success has to do with being in the right place at the right time, but most important I was prepared for the opportunities that presented themselves."
Camille also feels that finding a mentor was instrumental to her career development, "I was lucky to find guidance today. This industry is always changing and providing new opportunities for growth. Striving for excellence, to be the best and most knowledgeable professional at all times, is the philosophy I live by."
What's next for this star on the rise, product development and teaching educational class and a You-Tube channel? With that in mind what words does this hairstylist live by, "Keep the art of hairstyling alive....Forever."
In 2016, Camille was honored to be invited by the The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences® to become an Academy® member, and represent excellence in her craft.
