ST ISHMAELS earned their first win of the season on Saturday (May 6) as they beat Narberth by five wickets.
Tish won the toss and chose to field and they were able to bowl Narberth out for 151 inside 41 overs.
Narberth lost both openers early on as Loui Davies was caught by Peter Bradshaw off the bowling of Jonathan Pawlett and Richard Adams was then bowled by Lewis Rhead.
Rhead also picked up the wickets of Jordan Howell and Will Nicholas as Narberth were left reeling on 41-4.
Kyle Quartermaine and Lewis Hough looked to steady the innings and they shared 49 runs for the fifth wicket.
Quartermaine neared his half century but then saw Hough bowled by Brennan Devonald on a score of 15.
He then did reach his 50 but was beginning to run out of partners as Ben Hughes was run out by Phillip Llewellyn on a score of 10, leaving Narberth on 114-6.
Dan Hughes was caught by Andrew Pawlett off the bowling of Rhead and he also had Rhodri Dyer caught by Jonathan Pawlett.
Rhead wasn’t finished there either as he then trapped Ceri Davies leg before wicket to finish with excellent figures of 6-42.
Quartermaine hit six fours and four sixes as he made his way to a score of 83 from 68 balls but he was then caught off the bowling of Chris Fitzpatrick, brining Narberth’s innings to a close.
Tish made a steady start to their reply with Peter Bradshaw and Phil Llewellyn sharing 28 runs for the first wicket. Ben Hughes made the breakthrough as he had Llewellyn caught by Loui Davies on a score of 16.
Karl Rhead hit a four and a six in his score of 13 but he was then trapped leg before by Hughes, leaving Tish on 52-2.
Bradshaw and Brennan Devonald added 34 for the third wicket before the former was bowled by Lewis Hough. The Tish opener had hit four fours and two sixes in his score of 42.
Devonald hit two fours and a six in his knock of 21 but he was then bowled by Hough.
Despite the wickets falling Tish continued to put runs on the board as Jonathan Pawlett added 10 before being caught by Dan Hughes off the bowling of Loui Davies.
That left Tish on 121-5 but Richard Brock and Phillip Cockburn were able to see their side to victory with time to spare.
Brock hit three fours as he finished unbeaten on 18 from 15 balls while Cockburn hit three fours and a six in his unbeaten score of 29.
On Saturday, May 13, Tish host Cresselly while Narberth visit Llangwm.
