SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is calling on his constituents to back food and drink festivals across his region.
Mr Rowlands, Chair of the Senedd’s Cross-Party Group on Tourism, is urging the public to support the upcoming Mold, Wrexham and Llangollen food festivals.
He said: “As a big supporter of promoting tourism in North Wales it is great to see the return of all these popular food festivals once again.
“Wrexham Feast, which is being held on September 21 and 22 is always very popular and attracts hundreds of visitors from the Wrexham area and all over North Wales.
“Wrexham is a tourist attraction in its own right and I am delighted to see events like this are continuing to promote this vibrant city.
“It also follows the highly popular Mold Food and Drink Festival which is being held in the town from September 13-15. With Llangollen Food Festival planned for October 12 and 13.
“It really is fantastic to see North Wales hosting so many festivals because it is a great opportunity not only to bring communities together but it gives local producers a chance to show their wares to the public and visitors alike.
“I am a great supporter of these sort of events as they are also a great way to promote our towns as tourist destinations in North Wales.
“As chair of the Welsh Parliament’s Cross-Party Group on Tourism, I believe they really do encourage more visitors into our towns who spend money to help the local economy.”
